Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 04, 2014 11:24 am Hi, We are in the process of building a 2 side by side townhouses. Our current situation is we have just had the existing old house demolished and the existing sewer pipe capped (within the property boundary). I have had a search of the forums but nothing addresses my situation. Now my question is; our builder requires us "to ensure connection points for sewer/water (including storm-water) is provided either at or within the property boundary to legally connect from within the property boundary in accordance with Clause 13 of the HIA Building Contract for New Homes prior to commencement of construction. It is the owners responsibility to provide connection points for sewer/storm-water in accordance with the requirements of the Local Authority including all associated permit fees" Is there anything more I need to do? What permits would they be talking about? Would I need this permit? (Asset Consent Permit): http://www.gleneira.vic.gov.au/Council/ ... ent_Permit I was told by someone that due to building a dual occ i will have excess water run off from the roofs so have to provide a proper stormwater drainage system. Will the builder do this? or should i be doing this? thanks in advance! Re: Sewer/Stormwater Connection points (Dual Occ) - Need adv 2Apr 04, 2014 1:19 pm You should be able to reuse the existing sewer connection but you will probably need to organise for legal points of discharge of stormwater using the form you refer to. It would appear that what the builder is saying is he will allow for connection as long as a point for connection is provided with permits by you or others. Depending on what your planning permit says you may also have to provide detention tanks. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get !
