That's so funny Deluxes!! We may do the same and take a packed hamper to sustain us throughout the proceedings! Do you think that some encouraging words and polite applause from the newly named VIP Section would be out of place? Very impressed that on the first fine day after a week of rain, our slab was poured on a Saturday morning. After it bucketed down again most of yesterday we thought we'd be waiting until next week. Even with our home only just out of the ground, we're able to get a much better idea of how it's sitting on our little block of land and are very happy with it all. Thanks akust0m, pipes, plastic, port-a-loos, concrete, getting invoices and owing the bank a stupid amount of money....it's amazing the things we're getting excited about these days Hopefully it's been as dry and sunny down your way as it's been here and you'll get your pour this week. We took our four year old niece to the display homes yesterday and if it's any consolation, she said that she liked the Dakota more than the Hudson. From the mouths of babes..... Re: Building The Hudson by Simonds - The Range, Melbourne 28Apr 13, 2014 12:07 pm Hahaha very true It rained a little yesterday but today is looking good, hopefully it will stay this way up until Tuesday. I haven't actually been in a Dakota display home. I've been in the Cambridge which is almost identical. I've flipped the back so that all of the bedrooms are along one side of the house and also moved a couple of walls and doors around. I might have to make a trip down to Cranbourne soon to see the Dakota in the flesh! Has it only just recently opened? When I first approached Simonds, they advised that they had no Dakota's on display as it was such a new design. Maybe we were in a post-slab state of euphoria! I'd certainly ring and check first before you make the trip. Re: Building The Hudson by Simonds - The Range, Melbourne 30Apr 13, 2014 12:17 pm Hahaha they've probably just opened it I'll ask them during the week and I might go down next weekend. After the slab making our home look smaller than we'd imagined, it all looks rather bigger now that the frame is up. We were so tempted to go through the gap in the wire fencing for a stroll around but decided to follow the rules and hope that karma does its job with the build. Re: Building The Hudson by Simonds - The Range, Melbourne 32Apr 15, 2014 8:04 pm Wow its all happening now. Congratulations on the frame. So exciting to walk through isn't it? I noticed your garage is a gym. Hubby wouldn't let me do that but I have a bedroom. Funny how the biggest room in the house goes to our cars! It looks fantastic - you must be getting excited now. After I saw our surf mist roof, I thought wow what a beautiful colour. Your facade will look very stylish! Re: Building The Hudson by Simonds - The Range, Melbourne 33Apr 15, 2014 8:35 pm Very Nice! Your facade will look very stylish! Yes, when land is so expensive it just seemed bizarre to be giving such a lot of it to cars. They have a perfectly good driveway to live in We've modified the interior so that we have double 820mm glass internal doors going into the "garage"/gym. We'll put some frosting over at least some of the glazing so it's not so in-your-face, but we wanted as much light as possible going into the room. We also have a TV point and lots of electricity points being installed in there. Is your roofing up yet? No pics on your thread but really keen to see it. Surfmist roofing will look beautiful! Re: Building The Hudson by Simonds - The Range, Melbourne 37Apr 17, 2014 10:37 am akust0m Whoa!! That went up extremely quick!! And so did yours, we're neck and neck now! Our family staged an intervention ( ) and we've been on a holiday in Nth Queensland since Good Friday. Back in Melbourne on Sunday, where of course we're going to go straight from the airport to our site. We had our first independent building inspection for the frame stage yesterday, so will get the report on Monday. Hoping that it's all OK as the fascia/guttering and maybe even the roof has been done while we've been away. Or not. Even though we're having a great holiday in the sun, we're definitely having separation anxiety from our build!! Will go check out where you're at now Re: Building The Hudson by Simonds - The Range, Melbourne 40Apr 26, 2014 6:33 pm Hope you had a lovely Holiday! All the best and fingers crossed for the report on Monday (I'm sure it'll be fine). Volume, most defiantly, but spec would vary. If youre doing a knock down, there additional costs associated with that that will eat into your budget… 1 10283 I have posted this before: We hired Darbecca to do every stage inspection, and I strongly recommend them to anyone that asks me. They were amazing. Thorough reports… 2 4526 |
