And yes, we do have to follow them, information from them generally isn't forthcoming. Re: Building Simonds Hudson - Melbourne 12Apr 03, 2014 8:52 am We just worry that we'll miss something critical that we were meant to do! Our experience so far with Simonds as been excellent overall and they have worked well with our bank and land developer so we haven't had to worry about transactional stuff before we even build. We have everything crossed that the build will follow suit, with some expectations thrown in that it's unlikely that all will go perfectly. We're going to go with Simonds outer limit timeframe so that anything before then will be a bonus.... of course it had better not go beyond that timeframe though! We've waited so long to build, years and years, that just finally doing it seems quite surreal. Our slab may well be the most welcome chunk of concrete in history Re: Building Simonds Hudson - Melbourne 13Apr 03, 2014 8:57 am homeontherange We just worry that we'll miss something critical that we were meant to do! Our slab may well be the most welcome chunk of concrete in history Our CRC has been magic... the majority of the stuff I was worried about in my first build and had to organise myself was just done by her. I was shocked! It was great and made it so breezy. I think that's a wise thing re: the timeframe. Expect the outer limit one and be happy with anything that comes in before it... much easier for your nerves that way! We arent planning anything or banking on anything before that maximum build time, even if it looks like being done beforehand. Re: Building Simonds Hudson - Site Start 15Apr 04, 2014 5:40 pm Who knew that a wire fence and a port-a-loo could be the cause of so much excitement?! We drove past our site today to see that work has finally commenced. Is there a Simonds office in Gippsland or is your CRC in the Springvale HO? Interested in who you have if so. We had an awesome experience with our sales guy, loved the colour selection people, our contract guy was great too. We like our CRC and she's been really helpful, but communications can be inconsistent and that can be a bit frustrating. I'd like to think that we're not too high maintenance but who knows! We're really hoping that we get a good SS. Yeah there is a Simonds office in Traralgon. I started off at the sales office in the display home village in Waterford Rise, Warragul. I've had the following people along the way: Brad - Sales Hayley - CRC Liz - Colours consultant Justin - SS They have all been fantastic so far!! Your block is looking great! I think yours and mine are at really close stages it the building process. Your block is looking great! I think yours and mine are at really close stages it the building process. We reckon that you're a few days ahead of us... but only a few It makes such a difference when you're dealing with people you like in these situations. It's so nerve-wracking and it's SO much money that you really need to feel that they're on your side. Not answering emails for 4 - 5 days (or not at all) might not seem like much to them when they have so many clients but to a person building a home it feels like a very long time. We've emailed our CRC the same question three times this week - it's simple and not one of our dumber questions - and she's just completely ignored it. It's not the end of the world, but the little things count for us at the moment! We have our first meeting with the SS this week and it will be the first time we've met our CRC in person. If we don't feel the love at that meeting we're going to ask for a new CRC. Everyone else at Simonds has been so excellent that the benchmark has been set! Re: Building The Hudson by Simonds - The Range, Melbourne 18Apr 09, 2014 5:07 pm Congrats on the build, I look forward to following the progress and seeing the design come to life. We're also building with Simonds but in Qld , our CRC can be a little slow at times as well. When we went in for our contract signing appointment I realised why, we were there pretty much all day and it required her attention 100% so any queries that came in that day were probably not answered. If I have an urgent question I email with a read receipt and then I follow up with a phone call the next day. I hope it all goes well when you meet!! I'm sure it will all go smoothly. I'd probably give the crc person a chance. Some people are excellent quiet achievers but have trouble with rapport. I don't know but I would maybe give them a couple of weeks before you make a decision. Nice area - my old stomping ground. I grew up in Lilydale. Thanks StephyD, following your build on the lovely Gold Coast as well. It's fantastic watching other Simonds builds, so much to learn joannek Congrats on the loo and the build in general. Lived all over the place since then but it's really nice going back to the foothills of Mt Dandenong again. Your build thread is great! It's so good to see photos of how other builds are going, and you've had some rather interesting stories along the way.... I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 45543 custom probably not. Volume, most defiantly, but spec would vary. If youre doing a knock down, there additional costs associated with that that will eat into your budget… 1 10274 I have posted this before: We hired Darbecca to do every stage inspection, and I strongly recommend them to anyone that asks me. They were amazing. Thorough reports… 2 4495 |
