We love the white! I am hoping I will love cleaning it as well! I think the white on white looks good! I think it will look great when the splash back is in and the tiling is done! Do you feel a bit better about it now? I do! Thanks for sharing! At least when I spend my weekend cleaning I know I am not alone Re: Double Story Build 43Jun 03, 2014 10:37 pm No we will be in it together cleaning our white kitchens! A friend of mine just moved into a new house and has a white splash back and said it shows every thing but all you need to do wipe it down... No grout, no polishing streak marks just a simple wipe! If you got an email stating that their has been an update on this thread then you are going to be disappointed! The build has come to a stand still! We had an onsite meeting in Friday to discusses the lockup inspection by our private guy so there could be no confusion this time. The independent inspector notice that the expansion joints in the brick work do not line up with the expansion join under the window bricks. Burbank are going back to the engineers to get conformation that it's ok or I think they may be fixing it??? SO the next step is for the scaffolding to come down and the garage roof to go on, then installation and plastering. However they will not take the scaffolding down until they know they don't have to fix the brick work! It's been 3 weeks of nothing now... Let's see how long this takes! Happy building and I hope you are having better luck than me! Mentone - the little bit if garage roof has to go on because the garage is under the living main roof line. Also we have upgrade the installation between first and second floor (this includes the garage) so nothing can happen until the garage is fully water proof! I was hoping your update this week was to tell us brick finish and one step closer to lookup .. not these kind of update i just hope the control joints are ok and they don't have to do anything .. I can imagine it be quite abit of work of they have to pull it down.. Btw .. Did they tell you how many weeks this will set you back if they had to take it down ??? We are at lockup...we they have our money anyway. Its more a matter of getting the independent report issues fixed. My SS didn't say how long it would take if it had to be fix. He just said that he felt they would make up the time! Thanks Shambini! There is good news and bad (annoying). The good news is the scaffolding is down!!! This came down on Friday. Monday the frame people where out to fix up the bit of garage roof. I assume we are now waiting for the titler to come out and do his thing, then we can look forward to plastering. As for the control joins, who knows! They haven't fixed them and they haven't sent me a report. I have chased them up but no reply yet.... I'll keep you posted! Hope all of your builds are going well and I will post some pictures soon. Any progress is better than no progress I guess We back on a snail pace again .. Nothing besides few extra plaster board were delivered for the garage internal walls yesterday .. This typically what happens after a public holiday .. A little annoying but what can we do ? Re: Double Story Build 55Jun 11, 2014 10:23 pm Wish they move at cinquain pace! Yes it is good new that we can start moving forward again! I am hoping for plaster next week, but that's just me. I don't understand how one day off can slow things down so much. Lucky for us no more public holidays until November.... And for that one we will be busy landscaping our gardens! I got my olds to drive past the house today to tell me if the garage roof was on.... IT is still not on!!!!!!! It's not that I have been lazy and not updating this post.... It just there is NOTHING to report!!! When I rang admin last week to see what was happening she told me the roof and the sparky would be back this week. (The sparky is coming back to out in two power points he forgot!). The roof frame got put on 10th June. Since the 21st May (nearly 4 weeks ago) all that has happened is the scaffolding has come down and frame has gone on the roof! I feel like complaining but I am not sure if it's going to do me any good. ALSO I have heard nothing back about the private inspector report, so I can not update you on the control joins (they have had that report 5 weeks now). Again I don't want to be a pain in there butt... But really??? When we had the site meeting there was a hole in the roof title, and titler where there. SS told us it was going to get fixed now.... It's still there but I can't draw it to there attention otherwise they will know I have been on site!!!! Ok rant over... I am happy to talk all advice on what I should do! I hope everyone's builds are moving full steam ahead! Happy Building!!
