Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 31, 2014 2:04 am HI, I have been fortunate enough to have found a transportable house for my daughter who has a disability, so that she can live on our farm with us but become more independant. I would love to upload a picture that shows the roof angles and smallish windows in conjunction with weatherboard and what appears to be orb. Could someone please enlighten me if I can post a pic so I can get some ideas as to what colours to choose. As I live in the country finding a colorbond outlet is near impossible for me as I cant leave the farm whilsy my hubby has a broken back...I have a week only to decide the colours and was thinking the seamist roof but would like opinion on the orb and weatherboards as they seem a little displaced. It was really doing my head in last night. I have only a few days to sort out what colours are needed and would love any advise. This dwelling will be on a farm...im not that much into greens after most of ournsheds are green..I want to have a flowmon effect to the internal area and the house will be lived in by a 31 yr old....Fire away your ideas they will be much appreciated...As you can see the house looks somewhat busy with the peaked roof and the weatherboards and orb...I am going to ask if the windows can be enlarged at either end to match the centre one...sorry if pic is a little blurred its all i have to work with... Re: How to Upload a pic of new house to explain dilemma? Pl 8Mar 31, 2014 2:32 pm having the bigger windows would be great what colors does your daughter llike. you can always look on the colorbond site at colors http://colorbond.com/colour i like monument or ironstone for the roof Re: How to Upload a pic of new house to explain dilemma? Pl 9Mar 31, 2014 2:42 pm Hi, Im restricted to only the colours on the colourbond site.....the aluminium windows and sliding door frame must be from the sttegbar range 8 colours from birch white, pearl white, palladium silver pearl, magnolia, satin black, anotec dark grey, charcoal and anadic natural. Im still looking for a colour chart for these as the sheet I have they all look blue... I cantvtalk about the house with he just yet as she has ocd and autism which makes life unbearable. Closer to completion i will do all the internal decorating with her but her obsessive hehaviour would create severe meltdowns as she has no idea of time and how things dont happen instantly...got to love her... Re: How to Upload a pic of new house to explain dilemma? Pl 10Mar 31, 2014 2:55 pm I think sea mist looks great. It's what we have for our modern house but would look fabulous on a rural property. You could keep with lighter colours on the weather boards or go a darker colour to contrast. Maybe a feature colored front door in a bright colour? Re: How to Upload a pic of new house to explain dilemma? Pl 11Mar 31, 2014 3:27 pm quite understand my 23 year old daughter is the same with autism and ocd . it can be very difficult. i had to try to explain to my daughter that she could not use her room for several days as i was getting flooring put down. i tend not to give her more then two options but even then that can be too much. me i would go black for the windows and monument roof with a light grey or such for the weatherboard but this is me. also a bright feature like red for the front door Re: How to Upload a pic of new house to explain dilemma? Pl 12Mar 31, 2014 8:07 pm Thanks so much for your ideas...I rang the builders who have said that the windows may possibly be enlarged at either end..and at this stage highlighting the walls under the gabled areas with a darker colour may be the way to go...Decisions decisions...either light roof and darkef walls or dark roof and lighter walls... i like the seakist also with maybe greys on the walls...or lighter walls with the monument or darker colour on the roof....i had to go to town to get some vet supplies so ducked into bunnings to get some colour samples which i will look at tonight...happy for more suggestions if there are anynout there...unfortunately ive never had to decide in colours in building as i live in a very old farm house....as on most farms houses are just a place to live and they dont add value so are the last to get any attention. rocky...i hope your life gets easier...special needs can suck at times and yet be so rewarding at others...we both know this is just life...its when someone else in the clan pushes themzelves tothe limit and the walls begin to crumble a little we reach deep inside and find the energy to keep walking that interesting path of life..... I wish you all enough... Thanks. I wish there was a youtube video explaining this concept. 10 27176 Sorry! I'm new to this forum and have made a mistake in my posting!
