Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 02, 2015 4:45 am We need a 5.8m splash back window in our kitchen. Problem is, it's obviously bigger than standard windows and our builders supplier told me they won't do a custom size. I want to avoid having two next to each other with the aluminium post between. I took the below photo in a metricon house when there are two sheets of glass joined but no aluminium frame in between. Anyone know who supplies windows for metricon or do you happen to know another company that would do a custom window? Thanks in advance! The beam above it to hold roof will be impressive. Cheers, Paul (& Lisa) Parkhill 36 by ClarendonHomes in Coomera Retreat H1 Build Thread And Blog Building Blogs List - Go Ahead And Add Yours!! Woo. But yeah didn't think about the load bearing wall issue... Whoops. When we did ours with M, if the window is longer than a certain length, you need to pay to have additional structural steel to support the wall above the window. From memory, it was if the window is longer than 3m.
