Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Stellabella's second build!Base plan+inclusions 21Mar 29, 2014 5:30 pm Looks like quite a slope? Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65085 Re: Stellabella's second build!Base plan+inclusions 22Mar 29, 2014 5:44 pm There is a fair bit of slope, we are hoping to do something similar to the houses being built on either side. If you zoom in you'll see they've done a slight cut and then built the house up with block work before pouring the slab. Both houses are already being built by our builder, so it should be reasonably easy for them to quote. We are hoping this will work out because I prefer building the house up, we had a fair bit of cut and fill at our current house which I don't love. We'll have enough retaining walls to do around the pool area! 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Stellabella's second build!Base plan+inclusions 23Mar 29, 2014 7:00 pm WOW. That plan would is amazing. I clearly need 2 incomes Can't wait to see the changes. ______________________________________________________________________ Signed up Jan 2013........Almost done! I wish we could leave it as is, but we have to cut it down by around a 3rd of the size, so in reality it will probably have the rooms in roughly the same positions but nothing else oh well, we will see! Am trying to convince DH maybe we don't need a pool and could put that money towards the house instead? He's not keen haha! Thanks Rocky, I have actually been using that website to get an idea. We really like the Venini appliances, and haven't had a problem with them, but DH was thinking maybe we need something a little better quality since we are hoping to be in this house for at least 10 years. If we do upgrade, looks like we'd be going either Miele or Westinghouse. Need to do a bit more research. And now some more fun stuff...the plumbing items I'm wanting! Franke Kubus Kitchen Sink (fragranite): trying to decide between this and the square Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I'm wanting to go with the Mizu Bloc range from Reece for most of the tapware: Basin mixer: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Bath mixer (both baths): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Sink mixer (for laundry): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Shower mixers: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Showerheads: ensuite, I think we'll go two of these 20cm Posh one in the ensuite, as well as just a hand held as well, and probably just the hand held on a rail for the bathroom: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I think we'll go the Teknobili Oz for the kitchen sink mixer, it's a pullout: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Haven't really made any other decisions yet...we are thinking of going timber laminate throughout apart from kitchen and wet areas, where we'll go a matte grey tile. I'm thinking Sydney Blue Gum (from the Carpet Court website): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ With the carpet, we want a charcoal/deep grey colour this time. Haven't looked into that yet. If you followed my last thread you'll know we had some dark grey feature wall areas, and this time I want grey walls with white skirting/ceiling/cornice/archs throughout the whole house this time. I think we'll use Resene Half Stack which is what we have as our render at the moment. You might think I'm crazy for doing all this so early...but I wanted to get prices on everything and figure out what we want now, so we don't have as many upgrades later. That's the plan, anyway! We don't mind if we take them out of the contract price and pay for them ourselves, but we just want to know from the start what we'll be up for so we can plan ahead. Well, that's all for now...hopefully we will hear back about the land tomorrow! 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Stellabella's second build!1st plan+inclusions+tapware i 27Mar 30, 2014 1:03 pm Awesome plan stellabella...you'll never guess but we were interested in this exact house - lurved it but alas realised if we went ahead with it hubby would have to work away forever (plus I wanted the kidlets rooms close). Cant wait to see your version come to life though. Re: Stellabella's second build!1st plan+inclusions+tapware i 28Mar 31, 2014 7:53 pm It is a fab plan. Pity not realistic for most of us We STILL haven't heard anything from the developer regarding our offer...DH called the real estate twice today, apparently he is still considering it. At least it's not a no I suppose? Only problem is DH goes back to work Wednesday for three weeks, so anything that needs to happen, needs to happen NOW!!! 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Stellabella's second build!1st plan+inclusions+tapware i 29Mar 31, 2014 8:03 pm My hubby works away and you can guarantee that if something needs to happen while they are home it won't. its like Murphys law. Re: Stellabella's second build!1st plan+inclusions+tapware i 30Mar 31, 2014 8:05 pm No news is good news...yeah! Re: Stellabella's second build!1st plan+inclusions+tapware i 31Mar 31, 2014 8:07 pm Agreed! Last house we built, the bank stuffed up our building boost form FIVE TIMES, the first two were while DH was away, and because it had to be witnessed by a JP when it was signed, we had to keep waiting for him to come home and getting extensions on the contract...in the end, we got him to sign (in front of the JP) like five extra copies, which was lucky, since we needed them! Belzey...I am hoping upon hope that's the case...at least it wasn't an instant, resounding 'NO' 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Stellabella's second build!1st plan+inclusions+tapware i 32Mar 31, 2014 11:16 pm Hi Stellabella, I didn't think we'd hear from you again so soon, congratulations on your new venture! We got it $5k cheaper than advertised. Now we are just hoping for a quick sale on this house! Land offer accepted! 39Apr 02, 2014 6:24 am We got all our windows professionally cleaned before the selling our house. They weren't exactly grubby looking but I was amazed at how much fresher and newer everything looked! Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65085 Re: Stellabella's second build!
