Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 25, 2014 7:52 pm Hi all Building with statesman - myrtle alfresco. Have just done colour selections. Included in the promotion was 6m essastone 20mm but it is a big kitchen so we originally allocated an extra $1000 just In case. They have come back with the costing today and say we owe an extra $1200 so that's $2200 for 1.6m of bench top. Does that sound right?! Any examples of what you paid would be very much appreciated. Not cheap but worth it! Re: Urgent! Need pricing for essastone or similar, help plea 3Mar 25, 2014 8:33 pm Forgot to add q stone is the same price. For corion which is pretty much plastic composite our builder charges around $650m2 so significantly cheaper for a similar look. Hope this helps Re: Urgent! Need pricing for essastone or similar, help plea 4Mar 25, 2014 8:35 pm I'm with a different builder but thats around double what we are paying for 1.9m. Is there anything else there contributing to the cost - polishing edges for undermount sink, drainer etched in, waterfall edges etc? http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me Re: Urgent! Need pricing for essastone or similar, help plea 5Mar 25, 2014 8:59 pm Thanks asha, makes me feel a bit better knowing it's around the price mark. Definitely wanting real stone but was shocked Ta Robbie - no there is nothing special just standard sink and cook top, no waterfall just basic 20 mm thick small breakfast bar on the island. The kitchen total is 7.6m. They want decision by Friday - just don't want to be ripped off Re: Urgent! Need pricing for essastone or similar, help plea 6Mar 26, 2014 10:48 am From what I understand about essastone is that the builder charges you per sheet required. so even if you don't need a full sheet of stone to finish your benchtop that is what you will get charged anyway.
