Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 20, 2014 3:29 pm Hi there! I'm going to build a house for my family and I wondering if I would hire a designer to make a project or I could find something worth doing on the Internet? Of course I'd prefer if this project will be free to download but I will consider the paid one as well. Any thoughts? If the posting of such links here is not welcome, could you send it to me privately? Thanks! Re: House project design catalogues 2Mar 24, 2014 9:42 am Hi Ramario, There are so many options available to you. When you say you are going to build a house, do you mean that you are a builder yourself or do you mean that you will find a builder to build it for you? As an owner builder, you have a lot of control but it is a lot of work as many owner builders on the forum will attest. Depending on where your land is, and what your site is like there could be many volume or project home builders that could have designs to suit. There are quite a few plans on the internet as well but many of these plans tend to be American and may or may not suit sites here. Whatever you do though, you get what you pay for and if you are attempting to design a house for free, then you will need to pay for it in other areas - either with the additional work required to tweak the design to suit your site, or source materials etc. I guess it depends on how much time and effort you are prepared to put in or whether you wish to pay for someone to do it for you.
