The builder has offered to replace our gas cooktop with an induction cooktop. This means we won’t have to change any appliances or do any constructual changes to fix the issue! It also means we can keep our cooktop 900mm! While I think this is the best of a bad situation and even though it is quite a significant upgrade I’d still prefer my gas cooktop. I like the overall look of the gas cooktop and I already know how to use one. Plus I have already bought pots and pans for gas which I will now have to replace with induction friendly ones. Very Luckily Dale Alcock agreed to pay $600.00 to reimburse the ones we had already bought! They get to temp quicker and cool down faster- it wont take you long to get used to it I'm sure Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66620 Re: Kelsey78’s First Home in Honeywood DAH Build-Kitchen Res 431Dec 18, 2014 10:31 pm Great result - congrats on lockup!! I definitely think you guys did the right thing reducing the bedroom number to 3. You've got so much more house with the changes. A much better plan than original and its a good result with the cooktop and even the pots. Very generous of DA and how a builder should behave when you've invested so much with them. Thanks Meelz!! its insane how much can happen in 1 day! Cabinetry is scheduled for next week!! Cannot wait!! I think there was a hold up though due to the hotplate issue but overall i'm glad how it worked out. It meant the ceilings were painted first and I was worried about paint on the cabinetry! d3us_85 Hi Kelsey your place has really come together and it must be exciting to have the internals now being worked on. Thank you d3us_85!! Even though the 4th bedroom would have been useful down the track I'm really happy with the overall feel of the house! All the spaces are practical and spacious... to us anyway I completely agree with you, we are very happy with the outcome for the hotplate. Dale Alcock were fantastic handling this situation and came up with lots of options to try and make us happy! I was really happy with how the whole situation was handled!
