Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 08, 2008 9:34 am We are looking at builders but as experiences with builders vary wildly from area to area I am wondering if anyone has built recently in Point Cook and were you happy with the experience.
Oh would also love to know if there is anyone you would avoid like the plague but you can PM me that if you like Re: People who have built in Point Cook 2May 08, 2008 8:13 pm Hi penny73,
We are currently building at Point Cook and our builder is M. We've already accepted the fact that there's no perfect builder.. there will always be issues along the way.. from contract signing, building, up to handover. We love the house that we're building, that's the most important thing for us. We had issuues from slab stage up to now.. but over all we're quite happy with our build. So far our builder is fixing the issues that we are encountering... so no major worries for us. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Most people here suggest that you have independent inspection at: - frame - pre-plaster and - pre-handover stages. Quote: for me at a moment, i still have not sign the contract yet although i have been given a site start month... should i contact him now? or i should wait until the work actually start? need your advise please I would suggest contacting him a few weeks prior to the stage you want him to inspect (ie, if you are planning to have the inspection at frame stage, contact him before the frame stage finishes). I also suggest that you inform your builder that you are going to employ the services of an independent inspector. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! We are thinking of buying a block of land there... but DH is worried about the rising interest rate... so we are holding off the purchase. It's good that you started a blog prior to your site start.. it's a great way to document all the things you went through during the build. If you want to see some Simonds houses built in Point Cook, why not drive by at our area... we have two neighbours who built with Simonds. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Building Henley Carniya in Point Cook 17Jul 07, 2008 10:26 pm Hey everyone,
We are about to start building a new home in Point Cook Gardens, and I'm going to do the whole blog thing too... which I'll put the link up here soon. I'm also looking at using Contract Check as my inspector ==> http://www.contractcheck.net.au/ Has anyone here used them.. if so can you please provide any feedback. Re: People who have built in Point Cook 18Sep 03, 2008 5:35 pm Quick question. I'm thinking of buying a land in one of the estates in point cook, but only start building in about 2 years time (to save money....). Is this possible? or is there a restriction that construction has to start at a certain time? Re: People who have built in Point Cook 19Sep 03, 2008 5:40 pm kingster Quick question. I am pretty sure Featherbrook you have to start within 2 years of settlement, Alamanda 12 months of settlement and not sure on Innisfail. If you give the land offices a call they will be able to tell you. Re: People who have built in Point Cook 20Sep 08, 2008 2:49 pm Thanks for the reply.
