Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 18, 2014 8:49 pm Hi, I would like to start a new discussion topic here. It is to do with home & land packages with Clarendon Homes in Sydney. If any one has done this before or in the process of doing it, your feedback and comments would be great. Currently Clarendon are in process of building in Arnold Avenue, Kellyville calling it "Kensington Park Estate". This area is coming up very fast and looks quite promising to build in there. I am in process of choosing a plot in coming release and then going for the house design. Only -ve is to choose from Clarendon designs only. They won't allow other builder in this estate. Looking forward to it. Re: Building with CLARENDON Homes 3Mar 19, 2014 9:15 am I have an issue at the moment. I've got defects in the termite barrier of my home - these are unequivocal. In one place the granitgard channel is only 20mm wide whereas BCA mandates 40mm. And if there are steps or corners for the strip shielding to navigate the BCA mandates the use of prefabricated pieces of strip shielding. My termite barrier has lots of corners, as you would expect, but it also two steps which don't seem to serve a purpose. Nevertheless they are there. So my question to the experts on this forum, is what do you do if the builder (see title) claims that no defects exist ? Are they covering up or do they simply not understand the BCA ? The acid test is whether termites can get through the barrier without crossing the inspection zone; yes they can ! Help me please. Re: Building with CLARENDON Homes 4Mar 19, 2014 9:16 am You could always check this thread: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48073 and see if anyone in there has done home & land packages through Clarendon. Re: Building with CLARENDON Homes 5Apr 05, 2014 8:35 pm Finally, got the lot I liked allocated to me @ Kensington Park. Looking at the stats, 11 lots are already SOLD which is good. It is always better to be in company and in this case, it is a brand new development area. Looking forward for building contract to get ready. At this stage most likely in 1 week of May. Has any one in this forum also in Kensington Park Development ? If yes, please post your comments so far. I also saw the new Kellyville station site, it is almost 1 km from this place. Finger crossed, it seems very exiting........ Re: Building with CLARENDON Homes 9Jun 07, 2014 6:20 pm Hi progd our best friend have brought a land there too! Hi there, We are also planning to build in this estate and have a lot secured. Just going through land contract as well as finalising building contract. Will be building a Sherwood42 with some additions. We should compare notes. A little worried about the likely land registration date. Keeps moving. Rgds, Re: Building with CLARENDON Homes 13Sep 18, 2014 11:38 am Hi, We are building at the Kensington Park estate too. Has anyone heard the latest on whats going on out there? I keep driving by to see if they have started on the civil works but still nothing has happened out there, starting to get a little worried that the registration date will be pushed back again. Cheers Re: Building with CLARENDON Homes 15Oct 04, 2014 9:44 pm Has anyone heard about problems with split contract. Common wealth refused the loan jus because it's a split contract for kensington park by clarendon, help guys, does anybody else has this, problem Re: Building with CLARENDON Homes 16Oct 08, 2014 12:38 pm G4gau Has anyone heard about problems with split contract. Re: Building with CLARENDON Homes 17Oct 13, 2014 9:59 am Hi, We are building at Kensington Estate Kellyville too. The last I heard, the land registration has been pushed to March (I hope they don't push it back anymore!!!). Our colour appointment was suppose to happen this month, but because of them pushing back the land registration, our colour appointment was moved for next year...argh!! We drove by last weekend too....nothing has started. Infact, there is still an old house standing on the area..hasn't even been demolished yet. Funny. NAB wanted a split contract with ours. Re: Building with CLARENDON Homes 20Oct 13, 2014 10:52 am Messina ya there's no work happening there at all!! But once they start it zooms on!!!! So if there's nothing by December I doubt they will have it ready for registration by March! Our friends are having their colour appt end of this month I think the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6685 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant. The Dept of Fair Trading would love to see this one! Do the gutters pool water after it stops raining? Although it's… 4 7812 Ask for references and speak to them.
