Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 17, 2014 10:01 pm We are finally getting close to signing up to building our new home in Bedfordale. In the last '6 months we've come from an idea to move, to buying the land, in Churchman Brook Estate and selling our house in Atwell. We've decided on timber frame as we really like the warmth and quality feel of the product. In addition the large raked ceilings and glass northern frontage is set to take in the city, perth plains and (distant) ocean views. We also have decided to go with upside down living to make the most of the open balcony areas and views. We have been stuck in a cycle of reviewing and making decisions on a million small things and we aren't quite there yet. But its 95%. All the best with your build. I've got another place to stalk when I head up our block. Re: Double Storey timber framed home in Bedfordale 3Mar 17, 2014 10:32 pm Looks lovely reminds me of a cedar homes build we looked at doing years ago - I love the idea of living upstairs to take advantage of views viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Double Storey timber framed home in Bedfordale 5Mar 19, 2014 10:14 am I love what you've done with it - I will be following this build with interest viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Double Storey timber framed home in Bedfordale 6Mar 29, 2014 5:27 pm Well after 3 months of plan revisions and costings we have signed on the line. It's off to planning for approval whilst we finalise finances. Aiming for completion end of this year, which would be nice! Re: Double Storey timber framed home in Bedfordale 9Apr 28, 2014 9:46 am We've been in planning for 4 weeks so not too far from approval I hope. Less encouraging is that we are having valuation challenges. We aren't over capitalising as such, the issue is there are no recent sales of two storey homes in bedfordale, nor it's surrounds (except on large acreage) , meaning our sales comparisons are single storey project homes. This comes with a certain level of irony given all our neighbours and neighbours neighbours are two storey or split level homes Re: Double Storey timber framed home in Bedfordale 11May 06, 2014 2:54 pm Woo Hoo for planning approval Money the Bain of our existence viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Double Storey timber framed home in Bedfordale 12May 06, 2014 3:42 pm Great plan! Looking forward to watching it get built Re: Double Storey timber framed home in Bedfordale 15Jul 01, 2014 7:42 pm Doing our own siteworks got to be a painful experience as we'd have to become owner builders. So our builders come to the party to help us out. All moving ahead nicely at last. Re: Double Storey timber framed home in Bedfordale 17Aug 19, 2014 7:58 pm That's great news Jays won't be long now (I'm going to live vicariously through your build as I came this close to signing with cedar re our Quinn's block ) viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Double Storey timber framed home in Bedfordale 19Aug 30, 2014 12:18 am Nice looking space you have there jays.
