Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 02, 2014 7:14 pm Hi there everyone, this looks like an awsome sight where everyone is so helpful and have so many hints and ideas. We are building a new home, and were thinking of the following: Roof : Walnut - Maquarie Tile Gutter: Walnut Fascia: Surfmist eaves : Surfmist Bottom floor of house : Bricks - Boral Blackheath (off white mortar) second floor of house - Hardipanks - Monument Garage Door - Surfmist I am unsure of this combination as worried the Monument will be too black, but have seen a house previously that almost looks dark blue, but they used Dune where I am using surf mist. What does anyone/everyone think of using surf mist with my combinations as I wanted the bright lift.... Hopefully someone can help us ... Re: NEW BUILD - HOUSE COLOURS HELP 2Mar 02, 2014 8:16 pm What's the window frames? I have gone with colourbond windspray ( grey ) Feature wall on the left front of house windspray Roller door on the front right windspray The bricks are a cream limestone Gutters surfmist Window frames white Like you I wanted some pop with having the gutters and windows on a white Only got a tap so no picture There may be one I did in paint on my thread Re: NEW BUILD - HOUSE COLOURS HELP 3Mar 03, 2014 6:50 am Can you get colour swatches of all your choices to assemble next to each other in the way your house would be? The colorbond colours like monument and surfmist are easy to find in any hardware paint section but you should be able to find the others from the company that are providing the tiles and bricks. You could potentially even find them online. ie. I personally would not be worried about monument being too dark, rather it and the surfmist being too blue or cool to go with the roof. But that's just my worry. By the beach the very modern style houses look fabulous in the high contrast but Im thinking as we are using brick too and tiles due to $$$ we will be better off with the more blended colours - I hope thats not too boring.... I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34269 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17588 1 10481 |
