Re: Anyone else building with dreamstart homes perth?? 2Jun 06, 2015 8:13 pm If you do a search and there are couple of us on here. I must say that it is a hit and miss with the timeline. Everyone seems to have a different timeline. It depends on the contractor. Our brickwork started soon after the slab went down but it took the bricklayer ages to finish. See my signature for timeline. Where are you building? Yeah im building with Dreamstart in Waroona. Thus far been very fair and reasonable, slab down and bricky just starting Re: Anyone else building with dreamstart homes perth?? 4Jun 08, 2015 8:51 pm Ahhh ok, we're up to roof on. Had a crap time at the start with the sales rep... Build so far has been ok, bit slow and don't really call to update Re: Anyone else building with dreamstart homes perth?? 5Jun 10, 2015 12:35 am I don't think anyone enjoys the admin part of the build. LOL. We also had an extra drama from the council and land developer after the land was titled. It affected the entire release. Took another 2 months to sort themselves out and we were forced to alter our house design. Anyway, it took a while for the build to get started. We got hold up by this specific bricklayering team, which took 7w(!) from start to finish the brickwork (+1w, which i don't count in as they are entitled to go on holiday). The roof frame went on the next day after the brickwork was finished. Now, everything seems to go fast now and i could only hope that it keeps going like this. I keep bugging the CLO or update. We had to change the house too which **** me off because you sign up and pay for what you want and they tell you at the start it's all good! Our plastering has just been done. I hope from here on its quickish not sure of roughly when move in would be. They don't really say which is hard because we want to book leave off haha Re: Anyone else building with dreamstart homes perth?? 7Jun 25, 2015 8:36 pm Lucky you. Since i last posted here, we are still waiting on the roof. Not very organized. Timeline: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76782 Re: Anyone else building with dreamstart homes perth?? 8Jun 26, 2015 11:27 am No shortage of bricklayers now, last year you could have waited up to 4 months... Theres a shortage of roof carpenters tho...big delay going into winter..goodluck Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: Anyone else building with dreamstart homes perth?? 9Jun 26, 2015 5:31 pm Wow really Sofia!! I must say ours was delayed back in April with the bricks then the roof... Every thibg so far has had some sort of delay...most usless contractors ever. They rendered the front of the house and finished on a Friday but didn't do around d the garage bit, I called up and apparently the bloke had to go to hospital for heart pains... He was back at work that Monday but hasn't done it yet -2 weeks later!!!so annoying there is just a different excuse with each contractor... Re: Anyone else building with dreamstart homes perth?? 10Jun 27, 2015 9:28 pm Ya, I was not happy because i know there is no shortage of bricklayer and yet took them so long to finish with additional shortcut of non-filled perpends. As for the roof, I'm not sure whether they are short of roof frame carpenter or roof tile laying trade. I did hear about the shortage. The roof frame was up super fast and the delay is caused by roof tile manufacturer this time around, Seriously, I didn't know that they only order stuff when they need it. You would think 8w brickwork is plenty of time for them to make their order. Anyway, they gave us an alternative and we took it so can only hope the roof tile laying team can start the work ASAP. SS told us that he has a team in mind when i asked few days ago. No more excuses for the delay since the alternative tiles will be delivered early next week. Oh...we have a major stuff up with wall insulation (if you look at my blog) so I am not sure how many other stuff they have missed and isn't visible to us anymore.
