Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 06, 2014 9:00 pm Hi all, I'm stuck for facade ideas and colours and I'm hoping you can help me! Please disregard the colours and the mediums of render and boards..imagine the shape but a blank canvas. What mediums would you use i.e. boards, rendered brick, stone, wood etc and where on the house would you use them, it could be anything including a mix up of all or more what are your thoughts? Then turning to colours, what are your thoughts on colours? Keeping in mind we would like some variations of white or grey open to any shades, and what colour roof and gutters? We are thinking of perhaps Surfmist or Shale Grey for the roof - would it be too light and white? I just think it needs something ... and I'm lost! Thanks in advance http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b38/njectme/Forever%20House/3D_render_zps80283c04.png Re: Facade Help Needed 2Mar 07, 2014 12:48 pm Shale grey is a nice roof colour, I would have gone for that if we went with a grey colour scheme. You can pair it with monument gutters and fascia to help give it some life. A feature face brick (boral nuvo blue rio or something like it would go well with grey) at the bottom of your front pillars and painting the poles in a contrasting colour may help break it up. Before our colour appointment we went for so many walks around neighbourhoods and took pics of houses we liked, started to see a theme in features we liked and that's how we did it. Personally I quite like the look of render and brick, so I would probably render the bottom of those pillars, and have some feature render...kind of on either side between the front entry section and either side. So it would go brick/feature render/brick entry/feature render/ brick. You could also render the whole lot and mix it wick brick pillars or even feature tile on the wall at the entryway. (Sorry I can't help on colours though, I'm hopeless at that sort of thing) Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3230 Dear Members I have to decide the Facade column size.
