Browse Forums Building A New House Re: building with red ink Darling Downs WA 41Apr 15, 2014 5:40 pm Di nosaur, thank you!! Lol. I could almost hear you say that phwoar lol. The plan is huge, but I have 4 kids and my parents in the mix as well. I went to brikmakers and found the perfect brick, tivoli, but redink don't use them. I think we will go with provincial Avignon from midland brick. Colourbond roof still being worked on, hard to choose. My hubby is leaning towards the pale eucalyptus, I'm not entirely sold. We are trying to maintain a country feel, but I'm leaning more towards gully or mangrove. We shall see how it all pans out. Might duck over and check out your build. Thanks for your comments Re: building with red ink Darling Downs WA 42Aug 29, 2014 2:47 pm Have been rather quiet in recent times, but good news hopefully... We should have settlement on land by the end of next month!! Only taken 10 months to get land lol. I'll post up prelim drawings soon Re: building with red ink Darling Downs WA 45Aug 29, 2014 5:57 pm It is a little massive trixie lol, 565sqm to be exact, but then we have four kids plus we are also building a 2 bed ancillary attached to the laundry. I'll upload our latest plan Re: building with red ink Darling Downs WA 48Aug 29, 2014 6:10 pm whoa that is enormous...I skimmed your posts though obviously your parents are going to be living with you as well? Hope they kicked in some $s Re: building with red ink Darling Downs WA 49Aug 29, 2014 6:51 pm Posting to follow. Your plan looks great, you're going to have a lovely home I'm a big fan of mangrove for the roof. I'm hoping to do ours in mangrove when we finally build. The earthy tones look great in a rural setting. Beth Re: building with red ink Darling Downs WA 50Aug 29, 2014 7:29 pm Titles are in peeps. 21 days till it's ours yeeeeehaaaaa Re: building with red ink Darling Downs WA 53Aug 29, 2014 7:38 pm Yes double double garage lol. Parents kicking in some dollars otherwise we will be eating beans on toast for the rest of our lives lol Re: building with red ink Darling Downs WA 55Aug 29, 2014 10:35 pm Lol jays. We were pretty lucky to find that land. Three lots in total and all sold in less than 24 hours. If a shoe box would cut it, I'd build one. To protect my sanity however, a bigger space is required, otherwise we might all go a bit mental Re: building with red ink Darling Downs WA 56Aug 30, 2014 12:05 am Its huge . You know what I thought moving into a house like 3x bigger my kids wouldnt be up my bottom lol . I was wrong . I turn around there is always one behind me .happy cleaning . Im ok when I do living area . Then I relize I have so much else to clean then I get frustrated . But I do love the space . Re: building with red ink Darling Downs WA 57Aug 30, 2014 12:10 am Aww Melsie, I was counting on being able to sneak away from my kids lol. Will be good when we can get out of the 160sqm space we are in. That's us and the folks. It has it's moments, but better than paying rent! Save save save. Will all be worth it in the end. Hope you're enjoying your new abode Melsie Re: building with red ink Darling Downs WA 58Aug 30, 2014 12:26 am Yeh we came from a 122sqm home and that included the carport lol . Yeh much better .but still in honey mood period . Where everything needs to be prefect . Its hard with 6 kids . Snd I think kids hate me being so strict . And im tried of cleaning lol . But loving the size just keep blinds down and imagine what my backyard could look like . He he Re: building with red ink Darling Downs WA 59Aug 30, 2014 12:53 am Well it's fantastic that you are in Melsie. Up until this afternoon, I was wondering if we were ever going to have a piece of land to build the house on. Don't wear yourself out cleaning. Although saying that, I'll be doing the same. I've eased up the stress by choosing not to go timber flooring, and using vinyl floor planks instead. Tough call, really wanted timber but figured I'd be telling the kids off all the time, and just didn't wasn't to go there Re: building with red ink Darling Downs WA 60Aug 30, 2014 12:18 pm Posting to follow You won't be disappointed in vinyl plank because their wood look is so realistic now! I’m restoring all my 40yr old windows and I want to install seals around the casements. I’ve sanded back and oiled the frames with sikkens. My plan is to box up inside… 0 6649 go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 111283 |
