Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our build with New Generation Homes - Awaiting titles 41Mar 03, 2015 9:27 pm thats great news so the road is opened up? we picked our builder on Friday, we are building with Complete Homes (Ross North). I'll post something in my thread soon. what colour schemes are you going to go for? Re: Our build with New Generation Homes - Awaiting titles 42Mar 07, 2015 6:00 pm Oh good, well we are going with charcoal floors in the bathroom/ensuite/laundry/water closet. And a light grey tile on the walls, I will upload some pics soon. We are thinking about having polar white laminex counters, and a nice dark textured cabinet... We will have a white kitchen, and have picked subway tiles and will use these in the laundry! However in the kitchen we have a glass window splashback. For the flooring, we are thinking carpet in the rooms and bamboozle on the floors... a nice warm brownish tone. I like bamboozle a lot, it is a little pricey but is a great floor. When we finalise everything we will upload some pics. Re: Our build with New Generation Homes - Awaiting titles 43Mar 07, 2015 6:23 pm Not the greatest photo, but these charcoal tiles are textured and are really nice.. they are a matt finish. They are called "K935C Caviar Charcoal" They tile is also textured, but glossy.. it is light grey... the name is "CV344A City Grey Wall' On a side note be careful with European Ceramics, they tried to charge us a $50 fee to change tiles! Even though we haven't had pre-start yet, it is in the fine print which we weren't first told about... so just chose the tiles once, and not change your mind like us. I am quite a distance from the bush, oh well I ended up going for the standard elevation with a bigger window... I wanted a portico but can't justify the 5-6k cost hey. Re: Our build with New Generation Homes - Awaiting titles 48Mar 27, 2015 7:49 pm So we ended up ditching European Ceramics and went to Myaree Ceramics! Wow what a great service they gave, so happy with them!
We felt completely at ease with Myaree Ceramics, and are now comfortable with our new tile selections Also we had pre-start today! That went well, we will wait to see what the costs are! Also (busy day for us) we went to Choice Flooring in Myaree and chose our carpets and bamboo!! very happy with our selections, we went with Arc Bamboo (Champagne colour) and brease carpets... which are asthma foundation approved which is great!!! Choice Flooring were really good to us as well!! Overall fantastic day Re: Our build with New Generation Homes - Awaiting titles 49Mar 27, 2015 8:44 pm tsmith So we ended up ditching European Ceramics and went to Myaree Ceramics! It is asthma friendly as well. I hope this underlay is ok though http://www.dunlopflooring.com.au/find_retailer/choices/ The carpet costs $61.80 per sqm, and the bamboo around 110... we got a slight discount though as we got our carpets and bamboo with them. Usually their bamboo ranges from 95 odd to 110. I really like the bamboo that they sell, lots of colours to choose from. Re: Our build with New Generation Homes - Awaiting titles 56Mar 28, 2015 11:11 pm tsmith All we need now is blinds!!! any suggestions would be appreciated We are getting quotes from ABC and Kresta so far, may go to Vista and a few others All mine are from curtain world, I got the basic through New Gen, then upgraded through them. I found them reasonably priced and really good quality. Re: Our build with New Generation Homes - Awaiting titles 57Mar 28, 2015 11:23 pm tsmith oh and LED lights... will try and find a supplier and installer I ordered my LEDs from an online store, after being recommended the light from a friend at work. I have them all over my house and love them. You can even install them yourself if you want to. Otherwise any sparky can do it. I got these, but in the silver finish. They are very bright and also dimmable http://www.eurolight.com.au/lighting/le ... light.html Re: Our build with New Generation Homes - Awaiting titles 59Apr 02, 2015 5:07 pm So latest update we are going through the costings... some things are quite expensive other things are quite reasonable. An issue we are having is our 1200 wide door, they are charging us a lot for it... we are considering supplying our own front door! They are half the cost at bunnings... what are your thoughts?
