Ben Trager, in The Vines. 123Jan 05, 2015 4:28 pm We've moved in. I haven't really taken many pictures of us moved in yet as there isn't much to see at the moment. I have however taken pictures of the current project. My Mum got one of her friends and his mate to do our flooring which has only just started. We hadn't sorted out our Jarrah for the flooring and being Christmas we were pretty rushed so the guys decided to do cedar lining for us on the Alfresco and Portico. The wood cost about $1,000 all up from Bunnings. We went with a Jarrah finish but there were several styles to choose from. Now that Christmas is over we should be able to focus on the house a bit more. I did manage to put the wallpaper up in our bedroom though. Re: Our First Home... Ben Trager, in The Vines. 124Jan 05, 2015 6:06 pm That looks really good . Did you do the wall paper yourself . Iv been looking at the walls that I wont done and thinking it cant be that hard . Loloh you guys look so relaxed Re: Our First Home... Ben Trager, in The Vines. 125Jan 05, 2015 6:27 pm We were pretty relaxed. We actually had moved in within 2 days... or a day and a half even. So since then we've basically been enjoying the house while also taking the mother-in-law sight seeing for her first time in Australia. The photos of the floors were taken last night after a day's work. Hubby and I put sealer on the slab the day before. Doing the wallpaper wasn't hard but it takes a lot of patience. It was our first wall-paper task and the wallpaper we chose happened to be quite textured which made it easier to apply. We bought two other wall papers which we haven't applied yet. Once our carpets and floors are done, I'll upload the pictures. I might actually get hubby to send me a photo of the wallpaper in the bedroom and upload it I think ![]() Re: Our First Home... Ben Trager, in The Vines. 126Jan 05, 2015 6:44 pm Thanks . Would love to see a picture . You bought the wall paper on line . Ben Trager, in The Vines. 130Jan 10, 2015 11:32 am Thank you. It's been re-milled so there's some nice colouration coming through. Hubby picked it up from somewhere in Bayswater for around $35sqm. It was all de-nailed and ready to go. A friend of a friend is over from New Zealand and he is a builder who specialises in timber flooring so we've got him doing the work for us. Here's a few more pics to share of some more progress with the flooring.
