Still no word on when it will be finished but it can't be far at all now! Thanks Hootie. I like Aveley. We had been thinking about building in the front part of The Vale but it was so hard to get a block, then a block popped up in The Vines. We've been in the Ellenbrook area for years and just love the vibe there and didn't want to go too far away. Is it your first time in the area? Re: Our First Home... No we've lived in Ellenbrook for 8 years and with the kids getting bigger we thought we'd get a larger house. Always loved this area so plan on staying for some time more ![]() Our Build Thread: The "Extended" Marina by Visionone Homes Our Inspirations: Frank Lloyd Wright | Houzz Re: Our First Home... Ben Trager, in The Vines. 109Dec 06, 2014 8:12 am Hi Archetto, Yesterday was our PCI1. I was at work so hubby went at it on his own. There were no major issues. A bit of plastering touch-ups to power points. One of the wardrobe sliding doors had a little squeak to it. A couple of the overhead kitchen cupboards weren't flush. And they couldn't figure out how to turn the oven on (I guess they needed a woman there) haha. The house has a few last minute touches (like a couple of the doors didn't have door-knobs) to be done but our supervisor is pretty confident that we will be in before Christmas. I fly home on 23rd December, so hopefully next time I'm back home I will be posting pictures of us moving in ![]() Re: Our First Home... Ben Trager, in The Vines. 110Dec 06, 2014 2:40 pm Cool! That's fantastic if u can be in for Christmas!! Ben Trager, in The Vines. 113Dec 19, 2014 1:11 pm Feeling on a high! I'm away at work until Tuesday so hubby attended the final inspection this morning on his own. He reported back to me and everything went exceptionally well. There were 2 downpipes that had not been painted and the paving hasn't been rinsed down. Nothing major... And painters will be coming by to do a few little touch ups. Those are the only tasks that need to be done. We have had a very smooth building experience with Ben Trager and it's a huge relief to have gotten through with no issues thus far. Soooo, it looks like we will be in before Christmas! Hubby went in to speak to someone at the bank and they will have a bank cheque for him on Monday. So hopefully hubby can get booked in for the handover meeting on Monday, and then start moving furniture on Monday and Tuesday before I get home ![]() Coming home to keys will be the best Christmas present ever..... Fingers crossed no hiccups from here til then. I will be sure to post a few moving pics. We still have a lot to do... like painting and floors so we'll still be around Homeone for a while to come haha. Re: Our First Home... Ben Trager, in The Vines. 114Dec 20, 2014 7:42 pm Awesome!! Can't wait to see moved in photos ![]() Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Our First Home... Ben Trager, in The Vines. 115Dec 21, 2014 10:30 am Hey Archetto, Our slab went down a day or two before Australia Day so it's taken 11 months from slab down. A longer wait than we had expected but very grateful that we've had no issues. With both of us working away we couldn't really afford to have things go wrong because we would have never been home to sort things. The handover is scheduled for 10am tomorrow. A pity I'm not home to enjoy that moment, but on a positive, I'll get to miss out on a day of moving while hubby and some of the guys come over to do all the hard stuff. I just get to fly in with all the hard work done before I arrive hahaha. Moving the big pieces of furniture should be pretty easy because we only live 10 minutes away from the new house. Re: Our First Home... Ben Trager, in The Vines. 116Dec 21, 2014 12:09 pm I took these last month. Now bring on fly-out day tomorrow so I can see my new residence. Ordered our bins from the shire this morning, so they should be arriving in a few days on rubbish collection day. Hubby is going to take a few small things over this afternoon and then tomorrow he and the boys will get stuck into moving the furniture. Looks like I get to wake up in our new house on Christmas morning! Re: Our First Home...
