Especially if you don't want to be out mowing every weekend and watering everyday in summer. Our grass only needs to be mowed twice a month, if that in summer and I left it for months over the winter. Can't be much longer now!! Re: Aussie Living - AMBERTON - Site Meeting 296Mar 27, 2015 11:48 am I'd like to see a breakdown of the retic costs at that price. It seems strange that the retic is costing more than the turf (which is normally around $9-12/sqm). From Bunnings you can get Poly Pipe for about $1/m and pop up sprinklers for about $5/ea. So dependant on whether the quote includes solenoid valves (approx $30/ea) and other bits and pieces there is probably a fair whack of labour included in that price. If you are able to get in and do it yourself before the grass goes down (ie digging trenches through sand only) it would be pretty easy to install yourself. Still lots to be done surprisingly haha archetto Aw man your quote scares me as our backyard is probably 10x the area, I dunno why I thought I'd get away with it all cheaply anyway but it's still depressing haha. I think that's a good price? Send the plan to someone else and ask them to quote so you can compare Hahaha I'd love to have a big backyard like yours. It is scary when you think about the size though. With yours though, you could do some pretty awesome landscaping BS12 Your landscaping looks neat, love the front design! Are you going to be building planter boxes across the front elevation at all? Have forgotten what the elevation looks like so forgive me if you've got full length windows! Also, look up the Greens Recycling Facility in Landsdale. I saw it in the Community Times this morning that they are offering free mulch! Just need to go and pick it up. I probably will be building planter boxes in - but much later. They ill go where the garden bed is in front of the Master Bedroom windows - Awesome I will keep them in mind. I think its too early for me to get mulch haha If I was moving in I'd be keen on getting some...make my dad pull out his trailer and go pick it up for me lol fmac My only suggestion is look into grass varieties. Thank you for the suggestion - I checked and this is what this says: Watering Low water user. 40ml per week (Over 2-3 days) in Summer, no watering required during Winter Mowing Frequency Weekly in Summer, Fortnightly in Winter Probably not the best but I guess I'll just need to deal with it as I cant afford to upgrade at this stage alex_6169 I'd like to see a breakdown of the retic costs at that price. Thanks for the advice - I guess part of getting this done as I don't want to put the retic in myself (a little bit lazy). I might ask them for the breakdowns though. I REALLY appreciate the feedback and advice everyone. Re: Aussie Living - AMBERTON - Site Meeting 298Mar 27, 2015 4:43 pm To give you an idea on cost our backyard is 10x4m we had just over half done with lawn (We went with Empire Zoysia for the lawn (based on some recommendations I read here)) and the rest garden bed with some of those grass type trees (I am not the gardening type so no idea what they are!) three were quite mature the rest were just small ones. They also did the reticulation and mulch. We paid around the $2000 mark. So yours seems pretty standard (we paid cash at the time). We had a few pavers laid but we had them left from the build... The retic came with a battery operated controller. Hope that helps. Cool Re: Aussie Living - AMBERTON - Site Meeting 300Mar 28, 2015 5:32 pm Update: - No tiles have been laid, not sure whats going on but I am pretty disappointed. Thats 2 weeks of no tiles so I am going to ask for an explanation on monday. - Aircon ducts have been delivered and all the stuff for the aircon installation which is pretty cool. - All the paving has been delivered, looking forward to seeing them go down!! Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down. So i would recommend you follow your approved landscaping plans to… 4 10923 Hi Simeon, Thank you for laying it down for us. Makes sense. Appreciate it very much. Have a nice day. Cheers 2 8962 I would be wary. Is you site demilished but nothing else done? Sounds like liquidity problems to me. Our builder did the same. Got hundreds of thousands of dollars of… 2 15390 |
