Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 22, 2014 6:45 pm Hi guys, I'm new to the forum but wondering if someone could give me some advice on our chosen colour scheme. At this stage we keep changing our minds every ten minutes! ROOF: Colorbond Monument GUTTER: Colorbond Monument FASCIA: Colorbond Woodland Grey WINDOWS: Colorbond Woodland Grey DOWNPIPES: Woodland Grey GARAGE: Colorbond Monument Bricks are Austral Governor Musgrave (A lighter/sandstone style colour) and we have no rendering and a merbau style front door. Any help/advice would be much much appreciated!!!! Kind Regards Re: COLOUR SCHEME ADVICE 2Feb 22, 2014 8:18 pm I don't think woodland grey (green base) looks good with monument (blue based) they clash a bit. Which bit is fixed - ie do you have to have woodland grey windows. just my opinion... Thanks for your advice! The woodland grey windows are currently fixed, so we are sort of working around that. We like the idea of a dark roof and roller door (i.e. monument) but definitely don't want the other areas to clash. Any ideas? Re: COLOUR SCHEME ADVICE 5Feb 23, 2014 7:28 am I wouldn't do it myself - but it won't be very obvious at all from afar if you do everything else in monument. Go monument if that's the colour you prefer. You can play with colours on the colorbond website. Good luck Re: COLOUR SCHEME ADVICE 10Feb 23, 2014 12:22 pm Monument and woodland grey are hard to distinguish from a distance as they're both so dark. Maybe go for just one color and get a color that matches your bricks for the garage? Also if your builder has a designer that helps you choose maybe go and see them prior. I found our designer that the builder supplied was awesome and just as good at the outside color selection which surprised me. Or drive around a new estate and collect pictures of what you like. I personally like it when there is color contrast to show off each color but it is all a personal preference. Re: COLOUR SCHEME ADVICE 11Feb 23, 2014 2:49 pm I personally think a contrasting ( light-coloured ) fascia works well with monument gutters and roof. In this case, I have a Surfmist fascia with monument gutters and roof.
