Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 17, 2014 3:44 pm Earlier during our colour selection, we decided on two render colors for the exterior walls of our home. Plus, we also have a feature facebrick with off white mortar: Asutral's Walnut (Precision range). Just yesterday, we met our painter and he reckons that the two colors we have selected are way off and the selected colours won't go well with facebrick as well. He's recommendation was to stick to one render color. But he didn't recommend a render colour to us. Render Colour1: Dulux Gnu Tan Render Colour2: Dulux Light Leather Roof colour: Magnum Gutter colour: Monument Fascia colour: Surfmist Windows Colour: Pearl White Garage Colour: Surfmist Feature Facebrick: Austral Walnut Front door: Dulux select Stain - Antique rosewood We will appreciate if anyone can help us with the render colour recommendation? Please help. Re: Help! Urgent need advice with render colour...please 2Feb 18, 2014 1:40 pm Hi Hunk_ktm, For my two cents worth, I would give the Gnu Tan the flick. It seems to be a little yellow. All the other colours that you have selected seem to be in a more coolish hue. I think the rest would look great together but the Gnu might clash a bit. Obviously it's your house and your choice. I wish you good luck! Cheers, Jenny. Need hints, tips and inspiration? Join me on my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ournewhomecoach Who am I? Urgent need advice with render colour...please 3Feb 18, 2014 2:44 pm I also think the Gnu Tan is the colour that doesn't quite go Without seeing your house and seeing which colours go where it is hard to suggest what colour you might use instead of Gnu Tan. I'm thinking if it is the main render then I would change it to a lighter one, with more of an earth tone than the yellow tone it has. But it is your house and if you love the colours then go for it!! My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Help! Urgent need advice with render colour...please 4Feb 18, 2014 6:10 pm Thanks Jenathome and burnsfirsttime. We appreciate your comment and helpful advice. We were really confused. I had some time today afternoon to quickly go to Dulux trade center. I did got to see how much different were the earlier two selected render colour. After bit of hard thinking we have picked up sample pots for 'Beige Royal' & 'Tapestry Beige'. We are going to paint up some boards to finalize one between these two colours. 'Beige Royal' is lighter colour but we reckon it will make the feature face brick featured. Where as 'Tapestry Beige' is a warm neutral colour with brown hue. Please feel free to comment on colours. Thanks. Re: Help! Urgent need advice with render colour...please 5Feb 19, 2014 9:53 am Yes hunk_ktm, I think these will work better for you. Btw On the Dulux suggested colour schemes, Tapestry beige is shown with the light leather you had before. Just something to think about I guess. Best of luck with everything, it sounds like you are on your way. Cheers, Jenny Need hints, tips and inspiration? Join me on my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ournewhomecoach Who am I? I think after seeing teh Light Leather and Tapestry beige combo versus the Time capsule and Raw Cashew Nut we will go with Light Leather as the contrast and Tapestry Beige as the main render. The windows will be the darker annodised brown which I think is similar to ceylonese. Roof I have a choice between graphite or fully glazed graphite in the bristile vienna profile which I would pair monument gutters to or go the shingle look with Planum in coca with a jasper colour gutter and facsia. I had my mother get the sample pots and paint up roof tiles to see the various contrasts and I think the light leather and tapestry beige looks good. The time Capsule and raw cashew nut looked quite lighter. They are all within the same colour banding so you know they will match together...... Its quite stressful.... good luck. Oh BTW our garage and front door will be wood.... Re: Help! Urgent need advice with render colour...please 7Feb 19, 2014 12:01 pm Thanks guys!! Nice colours AussieMark. The winner for us out of the two is 'Tapestry Beige'. This will be our main render colour with feature being the facebricks. Now looking forward to it all coming together. Fingers crossed. I will post a picture of the home after the colours are up. thanks. Re: Help! Urgent need advice with render colour...please 8Feb 19, 2014 1:47 pm Sounds good.
