Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 17, 2014 9:36 am Hi all, Just wanted to get some advice.... We have been looking at various builders and have finalised to go ahead with Porter Davis for a knockdown and rebuild. Just wondering when is the best time to negotiate with them on pricing? Is it once you get the final price (so at Contract) or prior to giving deposit or prior to paying the Tender deposit? Any tips on best ways to negotiate with them? We are looking to build the Waldorf (Prestige collection). Has anyone had success in negotiating with PD? Thanks. Re: Best time to negotiate on Pricing 2Feb 17, 2014 9:56 am There is little room for negotiation and I would say 99% of that room is only available prior to signing a contract. Your initial tender will set the tone and if you haven't been offered 'sweeteners' by then, they aren't available. Typical setup, your sales consultant has one ace up his sleeve and his manager has another. Usually both will be played at tender stage. They might be in the form of an applicance package, free air-con / alfresco, free 'inclusions package' or a flat cash discount. Beyond that, you have no room to move in my experience - it's like asking for a discount at maccas. 9 24795 1 13125 Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA? Good or bad, hopefully good just need to know if my choice was good or not? Thanks ❤️ 0 8939 |
