Browse Forums Building A New House Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Almost there 1541Apr 28, 2015 12:44 pm Sparkies are happy with the trench (yay) . They will contact the plumber to sort that out. SS tells me the stairs guys are now ready so just need to coordinate a time. So what's left once sekisui take over again? Loos, dishwasher (plumber), services, stairs, clean, flyscreen. Need to remember to ask ss about the Missing tap (outside) . I just want this part to be over. And so we can get a date! Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Almost there 1543Apr 28, 2015 5:13 pm Yayy! The end is near! How long is the trench? Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Almost there 1545Apr 28, 2015 6:22 pm Woohoo! Well your neighbours won't have to put up with it much longer, they should just suck it up Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Almost there 1546Apr 28, 2015 7:49 pm Yay, lets see the stairs and floors especially! Haha to trixee, fair call about the neighbours Custom build Northern NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72217 Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Almost there 1547Apr 28, 2015 7:54 pm looking good ... have they covered it up yet? maybe you should put in your own personal piping for any possible cabling that you might feed through the trench in the future... Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Almost there 1548Apr 28, 2015 8:20 pm We have organised conduit for Optus cable and because it will no longer be in rock it should be easy enough to get in there later. But still a good call. I'll check with my husband just in case! Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Almost there 1549Apr 28, 2015 8:27 pm My neighbours are lovely. That's why I hate to inconvenience them. The trench guys were leaving all sorts of stuff on their driveway and grass and letting diesel and oil drippy their property. Ah well it's over now. And our neighbours still like us. (the street frontage neighbours)
We also got some gossip that the house next door with the battle axe block will be going to auction. means we may be in for some development The view isn't great but at least it was only one house Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Almost there 1550Apr 28, 2015 8:30 pm hope you get new nice neighbours then .. and won't be doing any sort of building Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Almost there 1551Apr 28, 2015 8:32 pm deluded hope you get new nice neighbours then .. and won't be doing any sort of building Somehow I think we won't be so lucky (see updated post above with photo) Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Almost there 1552Apr 28, 2015 8:40 pm Put up some sort of screening there.. plants or trees?.. Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Almost there 1554Apr 29, 2015 10:14 pm Lovely puppy! My daughter's name is Harriet Those guys are getting their money worth with that tench! Just caught up, Pepper is a lovely name and good on you for getting a rescue dog Fingers crossed nothing drastic happens next door. We're in a similar position in that our down hill neighbour is 93 and his block is as big as ours (apx 1,300m2).. I'd be devastated if it sold in the future and units went on it Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Almost there 1556Apr 29, 2015 11:11 pm cat_dunc Lovely puppy! (Limited internet here so only sporadically reading posts ) Storm was fine - we were on site when it rolled over and we didn't get any hail just lots of rain. Or townhouses. As if that's any consolation (We have townhouses on the other side of us. Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Almost there 1558Apr 30, 2015 12:01 am Can anyone advise how much they were charged for provision of a gas line? Ours is long and noted as: Provide 25mm gas line with path valve to the property to service the dwelling $5574. Given we are being slugged $1500 extra for Optus, the gas an extra $5574 and then the extension of power (and telstra lead in) for our extra long driveway is $5934 - it's a lot for services. And that was before the variation/trench work we ended doing for the rock! All of this is now in question given we put the trench in! Would appreciate it if others wouldn't mind sharing what they have been charged for these type of services (and if you can give me an approx meterage). I assume most of you won't have anything as ours is probably due to the battleaxe driveway Re: KDR with Sekisui House: Almost there 1559Apr 30, 2015 12:28 am We had the following as "additional length" charges. I'm not sure what was allowed for and therefore what length was the "additional" part - but these were all right at the start of the tender process and haven't changed since: - 90mm stormwater line $50 - 20mm water line $50 - Additional run of telephone cable in trench $130 - Extension to underground power supply $110 Our house is fairly simple - about 7.5m from the boundary. Again, not sure what was "included" in the base price of the house and therefore what distances the above costs relate to. Edit: we don't have gas to our house, so no costs for that. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13437 |
