Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 18, 2008 4:35 pm We have had Boral Striata Ebony roof tiles put up on our Ashford home and they have major defects in colouring - they look nothing like Ebony in colour. We noticed the discoloration when roof tiles were delivered on the pallets and notified the Site Supervisor who promised that he will look into it. When we visited the site today we found that the roof tiles have been put up and the roof looks very patchy like we have two different shades of colour. To make matters worse it stands out from the other houses in the suburb as they all have black roof tiles.
You can view photo of roof tile on our blog: http://quarterdeck26.blogspot.com/ Any ideas on what steps we should take to get this rectified would be appreciated. Surely the builder can not consider this to be acceptable, there is obviously a problem with the batch and that is simply not good enough. Don't accept anything other than what you have payed for. Good Luck, keep us informed My karma ran over your dogma Re: Help, problems defects new Boral roof tiles 3May 18, 2008 9:12 pm Hi Guys,
Yes, that is definitely not acceptable. A few days ago I would have said, "why on earth would they put those up, as they must know you will not accept them.". But now I just think the tradies carry on, hoping that the owner will not notice. Let us know what happens - they just have to replace all the miscoloured ones. I had Boral out 3 xs to inspect them..They change a few tiles but in the end there where so many with defects Boral ended up respraying them. All 3 items listed are defects and are of concern. Please seek qualified independent inspector and/or legal advice for your state. 1 8213 Hi All, I engaged a tradie to install concrete retaining wall 600-800mm high over 32 meters in Victoria.
