Hey everyone so I have decided to start a thread about hubby and I experience with building our first home.
With months of looking around and a fair few floorplans in mind about what we wanted we finally both agreed on the Sierra by simonds. We saw the display home in Blakescrossing and fell in love with the layout and how homey it felt. We sat and spoke with Haydn and he assisted us in everything we needed and wanted in our house my expectations were quite high with what I wanted but needed to do on a budget. We got everything we wanted within the price we were willing to pay.
Next step was finance that was approved Jan 6th 2014 and are still waiting on settlement date which is February 20th not long now can't wait for build to start will update as often as I can as progress is being made.
Feel free to post your home experiences on this thread I would love to hear them
Thanks for reading
Samantha and Scott

Great choice guys, it is a lovely house (of course I'm going to say that....we picked the same!). We're up to internal painting and tiling. Have you had your selections appt yet?

Congrats on your house choice (very nice).
We are also building the Sierra up at Mt Barker, we had a lightbulb moment after going through the Blakes Crossing display and ditched our plans just to build it!
Haydn is fantastic and played a massive part in everything going so smoothly so far
The other staff have all been delightful and so helpful as well.
Wishing you all the best with your build, so looking forward to seeing it progress.

Dowells windows I think. All windows but 1 is in. there was bit of a mix up where we changed the sliding door in ensuite to the 4th bedroom but they put a window in bed 4 so they now need to order 1 more window. Roof Tiles started today and by the looks of things should be done by tomorrow or early next week. It's all happening really fast! I'm not sure how to post photos up :/

Gee, it's all happening. Time to learn to post piccies! OK, I just tested how to do it. This is how:
Set up an account with http://www.photobucket.com (very easy, just read the SIMPLE instructions). And UPLOAD to Photobucket (it's so easy)! Then
1. click on the recently uploaded photo to make it big.
2. right-click the photo and select 'properties'
3. copy 'Address(URL)'
4. paste the URL into your post here in the forum.
5. Select the newly pasted URL and then click the Img button above.
Can't wait to see what's happening!

actually with the photo bucket it's even easier open the photo you want to post, on the right hand side you have a few different links, click on "Direct" and then on H1 in Full Editor mode click on IMG and paste your link. Also, if you have your photos on facebook, you don't need to upload them to photo bucket just copy link from there and post here the same way (before posting check your link so it has .jpg at the end of it)

We changed the 4th bedroom wardrobe around and made it in to a walk In pantry if I make sense lol and we also got rid of the small broom cupboard to make the bench bigger in kitchen and centred the oven we upgraded to the double vanity in the ensuite and moved the sliding door from ensuite to the 4th bedroom I think that's all the tweaks we done
