Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Prestart Booked!!! 21Apr 14, 2014 10:42 am Our House - Still a few amendments to be made at prestart but otherwise, seems all good. Let me know if you can think of anything that needs changing http://i1373.photobucket.com/albums/ag399/Victoria_Long/3Dhouse_zps6f6bd090.jpg http://i1373.photobucket.com/albums/ag399/Victoria_Long/House_zps634c238f.jpg Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Prestart Booked!!! 22Apr 17, 2014 1:54 pm Looks great. The robe in your bed 3 was similar to ours with that little bit of "dead space" between door and robe. Our salesman told us it's only about $160 or so to extend that. I think we're going to do it as I figure the more robe space the better. Also, do you have a nibwall between sink and shower in main bathroom? If so, that shower might be a little on the small size, I recall someone else on the forum saying it was a bit squishy. We're extending ours out a few hundred mm (not much space for ours really) and it's also not very expensive. Just my two cents:) Is your kitchen island 3 m? Or larger? I want our sink off center for more bench space, but also want just enough space on the side of it to put dishes and a pull out bin. Yours looks similar set up to ours and just wondered how you were going to set it up with drawers, cupboards, dw etc. Prestart is just around the corner, yay! Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Prestart Booked!!! 23Apr 17, 2014 3:07 pm That's an excellent point regarding the robe in bed 3, thanks for that. Not sure about the nib wall, will have to double check. We did originally have the shower the whole way across to the other wall but we halved it so we had space for a towel rail on the wall. Silly thing to worry about but I wanted one in there haha. I'll have to measure to see how big our one at home is compared to this. Yeah our island is a little over 3m, I spend a lot of time cooking and baking so I wanted all the space I could get haha. Dishwashers on the right hand side of the sink and the drawers for cutlery etc are at the other end of the bench. Two weeks today, yay!! Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Prestart Booked!!! 24Apr 26, 2014 1:04 pm Did you have your ID consult? How'd it go? We've got ours booked for this coming Friday, am excited/nervous. Prestart not until 19th. Had to do some rescheduling. Good luck at prestart next week, can't wait to hear all about it. Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Prestart Booked!!! 25May 21, 2014 3:53 am Another RedInker How did prestart go? Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Awaiting Building Permi 26May 21, 2014 10:37 am So prestart done and dusted (a few weeks ago now) and we've submitted our final plans with all amendments to RI. Just got finance approved this morning so our plans should go to the council for approval now! Fingers crossed anyway! Waiting game begins. Prestart went really well. Got out by about 2:00pm which was good, didn't take too long. The ID consult helped so much, especially with tile selection. Spent just over $7,000 at prestart so not too bad at all, we're very happy with how it turned out! Upgraded all the plumbing fixtures and that so that's basically where all the money went haha and we got waterfall benches added on to our kitchen bench, think it'll look nicer like this so that was about $2,100. Oh and the day after Prestart, my partner asked me to marry him!!! It's been a good month haha. Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Awaiting Building Permi 27May 21, 2014 10:57 am Congratulations on the engagement! what wonderful news. glad prestart went well and now you're moving along. would love to see some of your selections. Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Awaiting Building Permi 34May 26, 2014 11:43 am So my selections will be just the kitchens, bathrooms and laundry. We have dark timber floorboards, similar to the cupboards in the ensuite. The colours may look a bit off in photos but I can assure you they'll look awesome together in the house (if I do say so myself haha). I love you selections, I have Chosen French Nougat Essastone, and warm white Formica in my kitchen too. I have gloss Formica though, with Urban Wood Gloss for my overheads, the warm white gloss for cupboards/drawers at the bottom, and a Frothing Mocha glass splash back. Urban wood velour in my scullery, with a beige gloss tile splash back. I also have a black/white grey theme in my Ensuite. Even my laundry is almost the same. We have very similar taste I think. Congrats on your engagement, and your ring is stunning. What a super exciting time for you. I hope you get through this paperwork stage very quickly, get you permit and have a slab to celebrate soon. Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Awaiting Building Permi 36May 26, 2014 12:42 pm Love your selections and we also chose French Nougat for our kitchen, those colours are all perfect! Your ring is gorgeous, enjoy this exciting time congratulations again Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Awaiting Building Permi 37May 26, 2014 1:13 pm Yeah we were going to get gloss but they were ridiculously expensive so my partner said he'd gloss them for me later haha. We have a grey splashback tile in the kitchen, I'll have to add a picture later but we have really dark timber floors so needed a bright kitchen and the white, grey and dark timber work really well together!! Similar tastes indeed, great minds Thanks, it's a very exciting (and stressful) time haha. Not even going to consider a wedding until we've got the house out of the way!! Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Awaiting Building Permi 38May 26, 2014 2:20 pm Love all your choices, similar to what I have chosen!! Love the ring too!
