Re: Take Two: Warnbro, M3 Residential - Tiling Started!! 102Nov 18, 2014 2:33 pm Cheers guys! This a bit exciting it's elevated some stress but the next 4 weeks are crucial. Will they or won't they get it done?... Re: Take Two: Warnbro, M3 Residential - Tiling Started!! 103Nov 18, 2014 4:19 pm Noone on site today which is disappointing - even though they got lots done yesterday they only have 4 weeks to complete everything... every time I hear 4 weeks I just know it won't be completed in time Re: Take Two: Warnbro, M3 Residential - Tiling Started!! 104Nov 19, 2014 1:43 pm Had a little think, thus is what they have left to do: Wet area tiles and grouting - in progress Main tiles and grouting Carpets and underlay Taps/plumbing fixtures fittings Oven/cook top/extractors Blinds Lights/switches/electrics Paving Brick & site clean Shower screens/rails and fittings Roof Batts (need to check) Sealant on walls Ceilings/eves/cornices painted Re: Take Two: Warnbro, M3 Residential - Tiling Started!! 105Nov 19, 2014 1:43 pm I'm sure I'm missing something... Re: Take Two: Warnbro, M3 Residential - Tiling Started!! 106Nov 19, 2014 2:35 pm You are very similar to me and we were told early Dec, so that handover can be before the 19th (their closing date) Our ceilings and cornices took a day, they also painted out gutters that day, but need a second coat and to fix the mess on the eaves. I'd assume the sealer wouldn't take too long if the main floors haven't been done. Our electrical final took half a day. It could happen. Keep positive! ______________________________________________________________________ Signed up Jan 2013........Almost done! I am not so quietly here loosing hair and have gained a permanent headache over it! So exciting we could both have keys by then it's a race to the 19th! To think if they didn't get delayed with the tiler for 6 weeks we might have had keys by now... Re: Take Two: Warnbro, M3 Residential - Tiling Started!! 108Nov 19, 2014 3:00 pm Oh I hear you. I have had to ask hubby to stay home to help me with the kids cos I am losing it. He is 'stressed'. HAHAHHAHAHAHAH no, that is me Most of the other people on this forum who got titles at the same time as me are in (our neighbours were in a year ago) , those who got slabs same time as me are in. Some who got slabs after me are in.... and still we are waiting. Mental health is flailing, but we are SO close. SOOOOOOOO close! No point in thinking 'what if'. My only what if, is what if we chose a competent builder ______________________________________________________________________ Signed up Jan 2013........Almost done! I keep checking others time lines to see where they are at compared to ours which I need to stop coz it just upsets me more :/ You know what we are so close! I sometimes think builders rush it right before Xmas not just for easy paying of trades but to see how batty they can drive the owners Re: Take Two: Warnbro, M3 Residential - Tiling Started!! 110Nov 19, 2014 9:38 pm Unfortunately bad news today - They forgot to put the feature tile in the shower then run out of tiles for the vanities. They then used the feature tile around the vanity which against our bliss cinder tops is tbh AWFUL. They will order more cream tiles to redo the tiles around the vanities but we have decided to leave the shower without the feature. We were not huge fans of the feature tile we picked so its almost a blessing? ah either way its another delay we didn't need I will try and get pics up maybe tomorrow of the tiles they did today, you will be able to see how much they clash with the benchtops. So disappointed Hopefully it wont take them long to order new tiles and put them around the vanities so the build isn't held up. We also spoke to the tiler about the floor tiles - apparently he isnt doing them someone else is... that's just weird! Re: Take Two: Warnbro, M3 Residential - WRONG TILES!! 111Nov 19, 2014 10:54 pm Re: Take Two: Warnbro, M3 Residential - WRONG TILES!! 112Nov 19, 2014 11:02 pm Wow what a stuff up. I hope they sort it out for you soon. Also that is really odd to have different tilers for wall and floor .... god only knows why builders do what they do! Re: Take Two: Warnbro, M3 Residential - WRONG TILES!! 113Nov 20, 2014 1:52 pm Thanks Asha Hopefully they will sort it out soon, just means we won't have any feature tiling. Pretty big fluff up but you can tell they did the shower then realized their mistake then thought they could get away with running out of cream tiles and not putting feature in shower by putting them over the vanity. Awful to be honest Re: Take Two: Warnbro, M3 Residential - WRONG TILES!! 114Nov 20, 2014 4:19 pm OH called SS today, even with the delay and wrong tiles we are on track for the 19th Fingers crossed!!! Re: Take Two: Warnbro, M3 Residential - WRONG TILES!! 115Nov 20, 2014 4:25 pm Oh no That is super strange about the tiles. How bizarre. Glad it is on track though! Firstly with tiler that thinks feature tiles are acceptable for vanity when you run out, then to use two different tilers...? #tilergate LOL YAY for both of us! Keys for xmas!! Thanks Justin - before you know it you will have bricks piled on bricks and not in stacks! It's super hard waiting nit knowing especially when there is nothing you can do Hang in there. Woohoo! I looked and picked out the xmas tree I want last night - going to buy it this weekend This certainly doesn't look good. I would be engaging with an independent inspector to have a look at this.
