Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 11, 2014 3:07 pm Have been trawling these forums fora while and now decided to post a picture up of the final plan that we have come to. See if people have any input on things they may think could improve the design. It is a dale Alcock marina bay with a whole bunch of changes, few things taken from the stoneleigh stylings.. [img=http://s28.postimg.org/4b9whhfix/image.jpg] Block doesn't title until mid this year so getting everything right is the main thing for the moment. Edit: not currently drawn on the plan is double vanity in the ensuite. Re: Dale Alcock Marina Bay build 2Feb 12, 2014 12:13 am Welcome yo forum dewish - love your plan because it is very familiar We are building a version of the Stoneleigh although have incorporated the front of the archipelago into the design too ! Your plan looks great!! A couple of things we did to ensure the house was like the display version was increase the bathroom window size as per Stoneleigh and extend bathroom mirror right across to the window. Small things which make it more like the display. I see you have moved bed 3 window to back of the house - to this day I regret not doing that - better outlook than dead side of house and now we have no house wall space for washing line outside laundry. Wish I had have thought of that! Good luck with your build Re: Dale Alcock Marina Bay build 3Feb 12, 2014 12:33 am We actually are building in the same suburb too! Haha We really liked the archipelago elevation and was the front runner for choice, but had to go with something not as extensive to save some moolah.... I have had a read through your thread but will have to have a good look over it again,I think it was before we had chosen the stoneleigh as our base plan.. Our bathroom is a tad different because we have a bulkhead, so we hAve put a long slim window above the v.anity and below a full size mirror. Other than the vanity area we have pretty much mimic'd the stoneleigh ensuite.. There is another stoneleigh being built just near the land sales office in burns beach also which I have noticed and had a quick scroll through. Such a great loan really suits all of our lifestyle needs I find! Have signed up,but still have to organise final contracts and Prestartand what not. Titles not till mid this year so going robe waiting for that and hopefully get underway! Re: Dale Alcock Marina Bay build 4Feb 12, 2014 11:30 pm Wow that's a coincidence! Yes I noticed the stoneleigh near the land sales and had a quick nosey the other day. All the best with your build - look forward to seeing all your selections Re: Dale Alcock Marina Bay build 5Feb 13, 2014 10:58 am That good ol' Stoneliegh! Design looks great. Render - Extra leaf of brickwork surrounding Main window - London Fog 200% Around Garage - London Fog 100% Brickwork next to Extra leaf - London Fog 100% Right Hand side wall next to small awning window - London Fog 50% Brickwork for rest of the house - Cascade with Grey Mortar Hoping this should turn out alright. Anyone with any idea/objections!? Cheers Re: Dale Alcock Marina Bay build 7Mar 08, 2014 9:49 am Thought I would get a quick colour scheme drawn up to see what are thoughts came out like from new home visuals... http://www.newhomevisuals.com/clients/nhv186-1.jpg Looking quite nice but something seems to be missing? Re: Dale Alcock Marina Bay build 8Mar 08, 2014 6:07 pm I think it looks really good! You might want to start thinking about driveway/pathway/fencing/garden etc. depending on how specific you want to be with your colours at this point. Re: Dale Alcock Marina Bay build 9Mar 10, 2014 11:10 pm After speaking with solver, seems like the tints of the paint we are going for can't be achieved. So I think a different colour selection will be happening. But very similar.. Think we are going to go exposed aggregate or a grey liquid limestone for the front drive way and path.. We don't need to choose any of them colours yet, as what we are choosing is for th six star energy rating... So will definitely figure out exact driveway/pathway colours as the process goes along. Fencing will be provided by the land developer so good old cream fencing from our good friends at Peet! Re: Dale Alcock Marina Bay build 10Mar 12, 2014 9:01 am Latest elevation with colours. Think this is going to be the one we have decided on http://www.newhomevisuals.com/clients/nhv186-3.jpg Re: Dale Alcock Marina Bay build 11Mar 12, 2014 9:06 am I am liking the latest elevation colours. Looks good. Re: Dale Alcock Marina Bay build 12Mar 12, 2014 12:07 pm Thanks TiredHalo. I think this is going to be the direction we will take. It was what we were trying to achieve at the start, and then found out from Solver the original colours couldn't be tinted as much as we wanted so I think we have found the right colours for the job! Rest of the house will be done in the Western Earth - Cascdade Brick - http://australbricks.com.au/wa/bricks/w ... 6/cascade/ Re: Dale Alcock Marina Bay build 13May 09, 2014 7:54 pm We had a browse today at the tile shops and have come up with some provisional choices in preparation for pre-start next week!! Slab went down on Wednesday. Followed quickly by an invoice for first payment! HAHA Now the bricks and brickies wait. I have a mate possibly doing the bricks for us so we can hopefully miss the wait for brickies that everyone is having. He said the site manager said the slab will be loaded on 18the September... Bit of a wait. Re: Dale Alcock Marina Bay build 20Sep 01, 2014 9:23 am Conslabulations!!!! Fingers cross you don't have to wait for brickies. I'm at week 4 from slab with no start date in sight.
