Re: KDR - Dale Alcock Eastern suburbs - Handover countdown 302Aug 01, 2015 10:44 pm We're not sure what's been happening with our build for the last couple of weeks. A lot of the items on our PCI list are yet to be actioned, some three weeks after PCI. And to really make my week, our drains are still overflowing. So for the fourth time, I had to send an email to our CLO. In my books, it's simply not good enough. I can only hope that the issues are resolved prior to our aggregate going down. Handover is supposedly on Thursday so let's hope they get a wriggle on! Another positive week in organising aspects of the build. Our new fencing went in, we bought in more soil and chose our window finishing second today. We also have pretty much settled on aggregate and are still agonising over the pool decision! We'll hopefully be in the new place by the end of the month. Hope they have sorted out the PCI items and drainage issues for you. Fingers crossed everything is still on track. The new fencing makes a huge difference! What aggregate and window coverings are you going for? Looking forward to seeing it all finished Re: KDR - Dale Alcock Eastern suburbs - Handover countdown 304Aug 06, 2015 11:34 pm Thanks Jellbell. We have the keys! It's been a massive week - I've been away for a few days with work and left the better half with the little ones. We're both pretty drained so haven't really let getting the keys sink in. There were probably 4-5 things that weren't fixed from ou PCI list. They'll be actioned over the coming weeks - disappointing that they couldn't be resolved in the last 3.5 weeks. We picked up another 3-4 issues today and added these to the list. The positive news is that our drainage issue was fixed. Amazing that they actually investigated it and fortune a crushed pipe. I think we've picked up a new issue though. We've chosen oyster cream aggregate. We'll hone it in the alfresco area. We've chosen roller blinds for the majority of the house, although will add sheers in the living areas and theatre. We've chosen some curtains and matching sheers for our bedroom. Flooring starts next week with aggregate the week after. Some gates to keep our dog in and we'll be in by the end of the month! Re: KDR - Dale Alcock Eastern suburbs - Keys! 305Aug 06, 2015 11:50 pm That is amazing news, congratulations on your keys!!! I am very happy for you It does sound like you are getting there with your PCI items, you must be so relieved that the drainage issue has been addressed. Fingers crossed they address the remainder quickly for you! Thinking it might be a good idea to get an inspector? we have only just considered it ! Oyster cream is probably what we will be going with too, and how funny we are now doing honed in our alfresco area too like you! Loving all your selections and your home so far. You have created a beautiful home already and I can't wait to see the end result. Has been one of my favorites to follow. Congrats once again Re: KDR - Dale Alcock Eastern suburbs - Keys! 306Aug 07, 2015 12:07 am Whoo hoo!! http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/Keys_zps130f6c35.jpg Celebrations are in order!!! Re: KDR - Dale Alcock Eastern suburbs - Keys! 307Aug 08, 2015 7:45 pm Congratulations on keys!!!!!!!! Yay! Re: KDR - Dale Alcock Eastern suburbs - Keys! 308Aug 10, 2015 11:03 pm Thanks again guys. Big weekend with sealing of all of the walls. Flooring started today and here are some advanced pics. I love the colour and the look. Worried it's a bit busy with our benchtop, feature laminate and stainless steel kick boards. Sure the furniture will blend it in.... Is that lime washed? I don't think it looks too busy at all. Re: KDR - Dale Alcock Eastern suburbs - Flooring 310Aug 11, 2015 8:41 am trixee Gorgeous floor colour! Is that lime washed? I don't think it looks too busy at all. Thanks Trixee. Looks fine in the pics, up close is my concern. They're not lime washed, it's a colour called oak with saw cuts out of the eligna wide Quickstep range. Re: KDR - Dale Alcock Eastern suburbs - Flooring 311Aug 11, 2015 12:04 pm The floor looks great!! Really nice choice, it goes really well with your home.. love oak floors Amazing job sealing all the walls in just one weekend! Wish we were that fast at painting! KDR - Dale Alcock Eastern suburbs - Flooring 312Aug 12, 2015 11:15 pm Plenty of practice Jellbell, plus I didn't have to cut in! So flooring has finished including carpets. We made a snap decision to put skirting boards in. They look great, but were installed unpainted. More painting to add to the list! It took me a while to see the expansion join in the hallway, it doesn't seem to look too obtrusive. How great is your walk in robe, so much space! Re: KDR - Dale Alcock Eastern suburbs - Flooring 315Aug 22, 2015 10:42 pm Took the whole week, but the aggregate has been poured. A bit of an argument coming up as the aggregate on the driveway has a maximum depth of 80mm, although we were quoted 100mm. Does anyone know how much of a difference this will make on the longevity of the surface. Terrible pic below as the aggregate is dirty and the concrete crossover is still really wet. Unfortunately the council required the footpath and crossover in standard concrete. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: KDR - Dale Alcock Eastern suburbs - Aggregate 316Aug 23, 2015 1:29 pm Yeah we just put our crossover application in and the footpath has to be in the same concrete. They didn't say what the crossover should be, but I don't see the point in making it aggregate if it's going to be interrupted by a concrete footpath. Anyway, the depth would be an issue for me, that's 20% different from what was quoted, and 100mm seems to be the standard for Australia. Re: KDR - Dale Alcock Eastern suburbs - Aggregate 317Aug 24, 2015 6:47 pm Sorry to hear about the aggregate depth D_rail, hopefully it is resolved. I wouldn't be happy either, it seems like a big difference especially in a spot where it needs to be extra strong with cars driving up and down on it. It does look great though, it's coming together nicely. Re: KDR - Dale Alcock Eastern suburbs - Flooring 318Aug 24, 2015 8:44 pm D_rail Took the whole week, but the aggregate has been poured. Hi D_Rail What you might find is the max. is 80mm and I would think there would be areas with less Generally this thickness is suitable for Garage hardstands... drive ways should be 100mm with reinforcement mesh Sorry to say,I would be limiting the driveway to light vehicles only delivery trucks will crack the drive and the mesh will be the only thing holding it together Did you get any warranty? Especially when you're paying for it. We had the exact same issue, although the council said the apron had to be concrete as well. Last year I had a gas leak at my house. 3 days later, I have about 1 sqm of my exposed aggregate paving broken up. I am not sure how to go about getting it repaired… 0 10414 After some ideas on making our patio kid friendly . Currently we have exposed aggregate. The patio faces west and is always in sun even though it has a shade directly… 0 3628 |
