Re: A question regarding hand over and insurance. 5Feb 10, 2014 5:34 pm markomac Im still a little iffy on a few things. We've been told that there are certain landscape requirements we need to meet (I am not sure if this was a developer or a council requirement. This info only came from the landscapers at Wisdom, I havent seen it in writing anywhere), one of those was that we had to plant a certain amount of and certain types of tree in our backyard. When (if at all) would that kind of thing be inspected if not for occupancy? Also, I believe the requirement for "Shading Devices on all west facing windows" had something to do with BASIX. So that would need to be done for occupancy, right? We cant do that untill handover. Though, in saying that, when we pushed for more information regarding what was acceptable, we asked council who told us to ask the developer. We ask the developer and they said it was a council requirement. So very confusing. Normally landscaping is either a planning or developer requirement and doesn't need to be done for an occupancy usually within 6 months is fine. Getting BASIX right is required before the building can be be signed off as as a complying build but again it is not needed for the occupancy certificate. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get !
