I feel happy to be part of your excitement

We came across an unusual thing today...all the blocks from stage 2 and 3, some from stage 1 are covered with grass now. The soil they are pouring there must be fertile

. It is so symmetrical that one might assume it is done by the developer. But after investigating a bit, we came to the conclusion that it's all natural

. Traffic in the estate is increasing everyday and seems everyone is excited!
Congratulations again for the slab, we'll probably see the bricks in a day or two

I think it looks a bit weird because of the missing grano for the garage, workshop and the two alfresco's,
but I do love it, and yes, can't wait to see piles of lovely bricks

We noticed the fine spread of grass as well. I presumed that is was seeded by the developer too, as it looks so perfect, but I guess it is just natural now we have had some rain. There was another car in the estate late last night, but I think they might have been looking for a quiet place to park, and we disturbed them.

They took off pretty quickly.

Thanks Ardie514, it sure is exciting. It's been almost 12 months since signing with Redink and 5 months since our land titled. So good to finally see some real action.

I hear ya! We signed in sept, wouldn't let us do anything until land titled. Got titles in Dec, so we're anxious to get moving. How long for you between prestart and slab?

Prestart was Jan 28th Ardie. We titled a few weeks prior to that. Redink had already had access to our block for site survey and engineers report. Finance was done and dusted. We never changed a single thing after prestart, and only had to correct some small errors a few times that drafting had made. February, March and April were just paperwork going back and forward, then scheduling, then permit.
Three and a bit months I guess, although it felt like 3 years. I know there is stuff happening in the background, but it all seems so long winded and drawn out. It's so amazing and exciting to have our build start. You're next! It won't be long

Thanks for that. Feeling incredibly frustrated, but I guess nothing I can do about it. We signed up w redink in sept. Our sales rep wouldn't move our file to the office until we had titles and they had land access. That all happened in mid Dec. So it's taken us 5 months just to get to prestart. Another 2-3 until construction I assume. And I think we've been really easy. No plan changes, financing all taken care of, no idea why SO slow. We had really hoped to be in by Christmas, but no way that's going to happen. Ok thanks, got that off my chest:-)

Have they told you when you might have some bricks? Soon I hope.

Gosh Ardie, it IS frustrating! We were the same, just general upgrades at prestart, no changes after that, finance so organised that it expired while we were waiting for Redink, and we had do do it over again

I feel like Feb, March and April were just 3 months wasted. Our CLO rang me yesterday and introduced herself, and the SS rang my hubby to say hi as well, which was lovely. They say plumbing this week, soakwells the week after, which we are organising, then bricks delivered. Who knows! Am dreading the wait for brickies, as I know there is a shortage, and my head will explode, as I am like you, and are hoping for handover in November, to be in for Christmas. I just don't know if this will happen. We are renting, and our lease is up at the end of Nov..........I had an unrealistic dream of slab in March, bricks in April, roof in May, and so on. Now I know that my building fantasy, and the reality of building are two very different things. As my hubby says, it won't happen overnight, but it will happen! He is much more relaxed than me. Let's hang in there together

Ha, ha funny you said that about the finance. I think that's what set me off today. Just had to resend all the paperwork to our broker today beacuse our finance expired, again

Oh well, I guess we're not in any particular rush, just paying rent in an old crummy house! Glad you're moving along now. One day we'll look back and laugh

Hi Kellydoug,
I just found out an interesting piece of information about the estate; they have started work for the NBN connection!! :z:

It's pretty amazing that it is only for the 'park' estate and seems like NBN does not have any plan to start connection anywhere else nearby in near future.

Now I need to find out the best way to take full advantage of this! :lol:

Have you changed your connection to NBN compatible? Both fixed line and fixed wireless will be available for the estate. Seems I need a good research before pre-start :th:

By the way, we have signed the contract with the builder and have pre-start on 27th May. It's very exciting to imagine having 100 mbps speed in a rural setting..he he.

We are NBN ready as such with Redink, but are also talking to Intelligent homes about a Smartwire package. Helena Valley still doesn't show up on any of the roll out maps.

That's only twelve sleeps away! Lots to think about until then for you guys, that's for sure.
We had our soakwells installed today. SoakwellsRus were awesome. Redink plumbers and then bricks next week they say. ( they carefully don't mention actual bricklayers though I noticed ) Let me know if you need any help with prestart pricing.

Thanks Kellydoug, at first we thought we won't be upgrading a lot, but as time went past, we have started thinking about all sorts of inclusions. We'll be making a list this weekend:)

Been waiting since February 2013. First signed up for a block in the parks but they changed all the blocks to cottage then the views came on sale.
Signed up with ideal homes done the finance 2 now as it expired and will have to do it again shortly.
Got the pre start book from the builder now just waiting on titles and trying not to get frustrated about the whole thing.
Interesting the satellite picture they emailed of stage 1 back in February,was stated as just taken but it was at least a month old, why would they pretend they had done less work than they actually had.
Anyone else out there had any pricing on site costs.

We went to have a look at our soakwell installation last night, which was beyond silly.......obviously nothing to see except chopped up sand, hahaha, but if did notice a Blueprint build across from us has just begun. Lot 572 I think. Has a sand pad, tap and power. I think we are the only Redink build in The Park so far.

Wow guys, what a lot of bulls##t to wade through! I would be beyond frustrated! Maybe you should try to hold an informal meeting of Valley Views potential land owners so you can all come together and try to get to the bottom of what's happening? You could advertise locally, or on homeone. I know there is probably not a lot you can do, but it might force the developers to attend and address your issues. Really sorry for your delays. Our site costs at The Park were about $19 000 if that helps.

Yes I think yours one is the only one with RI so far in the estate. It's good in a way that your house would have uniqueness in the street

. Blueprints are building around 12 houses in the 1st and 2nd stage combined. I think Dreamstart is the one building the most in the estate.
Looking at the NBN roll out map in Perth, it seems all the new moderate to big estates are getting NBN. It's difficult to connect NBN in the established suburbs as it would require significant excavation work I think. Only 20% of Perth city now have NBN!!
