Hi Cat Dunc. We've just signed off on our plans for the backyard so the landscaper will be starting soon. We thought we'd do it ourselves and we dug about 2 holes and made a mess. That was a month ago so we decided to assist the local economy and just get it done professionally. We are also getting our study fitted out soon so I can't wait for that. I'll probably do a whole lot of photos when everything's finished. I am still on here checking out everyone else's builds though. I'm just catching up last few days.

Well our backyard landscaping is complete. It's going to be a real Australiana style.

These are the capital pyrus pear trees which will eventually form a beautiful tall screen from next doors house. I had the idea of using bamboo but the garden designer said these grow incredibly quickly and have the bonus of turning orange and then filling with white flowers in Winter. Like this

What I loved about getting our landscaping done was that there was still plenty of things we can do to still add to it. We need bird feeders, some garden art and a seating area.

Looks amazing!! I love pear trees too. Is the one in the front a real pear tree or ornamental? (I always wonder if real pears can look as good?) Great that you can use the pear trees as we'd love to do the same but we want to be screening the neighbours out the whole time (not just summer )

Love your low maintenance garden. I don't think we can get away with the sand/gravel like you have. It'd be full of weeds in no time!

It looks great - the crushed gravel also makes me think of a zen garden Gonna look amazing when the plants all grow up and fill in the spaces.

Love your house Joanne, I've been browsing through your pics and wanted to ask a question about your bathroom.
You have similar colours in your ensuite to our new bathroom and I was wondering what white stone to use on the vanity,
did you mention yours is C/S white shimmer ? Just wondering if you are happy with it, that it looks white enough and isn't an off white colour?
