Are there certain shower heads that are more suited to a double shower?? Now that our build is nearing completion it's only just occurred to me to question the water pressure... The shower heads are treated as single units when doing hydraulic calculations that determine the minimum working head (50 kPa) and required flow rates at the furthermost or most disadvantaged fixture or outlet. The flow criteria must be met whether you have two shower heads or even six if you are really popular. It is easy to have a long discussion about shower flow rates, particularly if you don't like the water saver shower head performance or you are considering having an instantaneous gas water heater. 3in1 Supadiverta. Re: Double Showers - How's your water pressure?? 3Feb 05, 2014 11:10 pm we chose not to get the double, but went with the walk in shower. I have been told that if you want a double to have a separate water system for you bathroom! i do love to wash the dishes when hubby is in the shower Re: Double Showers - How's your water pressure?? 4Feb 05, 2014 11:14 pm We will be having instantaneous gas HWS as we do in our current house. Shower heads will be fitted with water savers, I think that's Australian standard now anyway? Even with all 3 on at once the water pressure is excellent and no issues with the hot water. (Solar hot water system) I thought water pressure depended more on the location of the house though so you may be fine with 2 or you may struggle with just one on depending on your area Re: Double Showers - How's your water pressure?? 6Feb 05, 2014 11:40 pm 2-cupcakes-pls I have been told that if you want a double to have a separate water system for you bathroom! This is correct as I have posted. They are separate fixtures with separate branch lines. 2-cupcakes-pls i do love to wash the dishes when hubby is in the shower Nothing like multitasking. I saw a Paul Hogan skit once where he was doing just that. Saves water! Sammi_O Shower heads will be fitted with water savers, I think that's Australian standard now anyway? Correct, although people remove the flow restricter if there are problems with the required flow through some instantaneous gas water heaters or if they simply don't like the low flow. 3in1 Supadiverta. Re: Double Showers - How's your water pressure?? 7Feb 06, 2014 8:30 am Well we're in Albany and haven't had problems with water pressure so far so hopefully it will be fine Custom Farmhouse Build in the Great Southern | https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=67188 Re: Double Showers - How's your water pressure?? 8Feb 06, 2014 9:07 am We have double rain heads in our ensuite - no drop in pressure although you do have to fine tune the temp when they are both on. We have mixers so when one is in use, you just pull it on but when two are on, we find you have to move to left or right on both to get the right balance. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Double Showers - How's your water pressure?? 9Feb 06, 2014 9:08 am lol when I said that I love washing the dishes when hubby is in the shower I meant that I love to take his hot water! lol I was being mean Re: Double Showers - How's your water pressure?? 10Feb 06, 2014 9:12 am Interesting Kyton, we will have mixers too. What hot water system do you have?
