Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 03, 2014 9:58 pm Hello
Im really excited. Building our first home. I would love to hear people's feedback. We are building in Stage 17 of Banksia Grove so keen to meet some neighbours and see how others are progressing. We have just had our finance approved on Thursday. Yay. Land is already titled and have prestart booked in for the 10th March 2014. We have made a few changes to the original plan: Add double door entry, Doors the WIR and ensuite. Double vanity and shower in ensuite. Extended the laundry by moving the door out. Moved the WIL/store against the games room to extend the living room. Moved the bedroom doors out into the passage to make more space in the rooms. We have also extended the cupboards. I will put up the plans shortly. Re: Celebration Homes - Lennox - Banksia Grove 4Feb 04, 2014 9:39 am Hi AshShep Love the idea of moving the bedroom doors into the corridors, wishing we'd thought of that! I see you went for the elevation with the planter box on the front, they look really good in real life and I think the latest show home (think its called the Miranda) has one and it looks great! Will be really keen to see what you do with your electrical plan, we really struggled with ours and not convinced we got all the light switches right. Are you going to put any downlights in after handover? Very excited its all coming along. Re: Celebration Homes - Lennox - Banksia Grove 7Mar 12, 2014 12:34 am We had prestart yesterday and all went well. We got all the things we wanted and it didnt break the bank so that was a real relief. The colours we chose: Bathroom Colours: So we have the brown tiles as a feature tile, sideways, then a light latte coloured tile for the floor. For the cabinets we have a light benchtop and a wood look for the doors. So this is the colours for the Laundry We were lucky to have our all our flooring included. So the big tiles for the kitchen/family living areas, Atlantic salt for the caesarstone bench top, with a gloss charcoal splashback and a semi gloss white cabinet for the kitchen. Then we have chosen a dark charcoal carpet. Last of all the exterior colours: Dark roof and lighter grey for our two toned homes, and we have chosen the square paver. Hard to google paint colours if you get multiple hits for the same name under different brands! I saw it installed in a Dale Alcock show home and it looked amazing, but my other half chickened out at prestart so we went with Osprey instead. Wishing I'd stuck to my guns now . . . .
