All the eaves have been painted, all the garage and alfresco ceilings have been painted and we've got an undercoat on the front door and all the render on the front of the house! And after peeking through the windows all the internal doors are on and have been painted, all the shelving has been done and the door frames have been painted and the ceilings have all been painted. Our bath and sinks are sitting in the cinema waiting to go in. I knew it was going to be a big statement having such a dark cabinet colour in the whole house (only the kitchen island is going to be white) but having the silk finish makes them look great and the upgraded handles look amazing positioned horizontally. Just got to wait for the meters and meters of Osprey Caeserstone to arrive to sit on top of my cabinets. They'll look awesome with the osprey too - can't wait to see it! So jealous of all your upgrades, would have loved to be able to upgrade a lot of the things you have, but sadly our budget wouldn't allow it! Love the fabrics for your curtains, do you mind sharing where they are from? Our Build - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=69989 Re: Celebration Homes - Lennox - Lockup - Cabinets have arri 166Jun 15, 2014 8:56 pm Hi Bingo18 Glad someone else other than me likes the cabinets! We were in two minds about all the upgrades ie: bite the bullet and get them done now although be in more debt with a mortgage or move into a basic house and "hopefully" one day have the motivation to save money to get the upgrades done later. My motivation levels are minimal when it comes to saving up and we don't plan on moving anytime soon so I'm hoping its money well spent. And my other justification was that to buy a house with the same spec would cost $100k more to buy in the same area, so I sold it to the other half as saving money! The fabric was bought from a fantastic lady on Etsy. Her shop is called "Sew Fine Fabric" (see link below) and she was extremely helpful letting us know pattern repeats and would highly recommend her. https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/SewFineFabric Building the Lennox with Celebration Homes in Woburn Park, The Vines https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=69328 Re: Celebration Homes - Lennox - Lockup - Cabinets have arri 167Jun 15, 2014 11:05 pm Ha we were in two minds about the upgrades also, we just went the other way to you! We upgraded some of the 'bigger' things and will try and upgrade some of the smaller things later down the track when we've got time and money. Thanks for the link, her fabrics look awesome! I'm looking into making curtains myself for our bedrooms, so am trying to find the right fabrics. We've also gone for a dark silk finish cabinet, I'm pleased to see it looks so good. My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Celebration Homes - Lennox - Lockup - Cabinets Installed 169Jun 16, 2014 10:06 pm hi Bingo18 - we spent around $5k on fabric for curtains and semi blackout linings and all the other stuff you need to make curtains and a family member in the UK is making the curtains and going to post them out to us. Even after buying expensive organic fabric and paying for the track system to run the curtains on we are saving $6k based on the quote from ABC blinds which was just for sheer curtains in living areas and basic blackout curtains in the bedrooms. And thanks Burnsfirsttime, they look better every time I see them! Today I received an email from our CC letting me know that the copper blinds we had chosen are no longer available so I went into the selection room to choose another colour. We were getting nervous about the copper colour anyway so maybe it was for the best. Instead have gone for a colour called Onyx, a metallic charcoal colour with slight flecks of bronze/gold. Sounds awful but looks very nice, forgot to take a picture though. Went to the house tonight to see if anything had changed and loads has happened - I cannot stress how quickly the work is happening on the house now, and although we can only look through the windows the quality of work looks very good. The garage floor has been laid and looks immaculate (was too dark for pictures of it) and all the cabinets have been fitted now! Ensuite - so happy we went for a double vanity, it looks very impressive even without the stone tops and sinks Laundry - the big metal frame is to support the stone bench top as instead of cabinets underneath we will be having our washing machine and tumble dryer. Kitchen - sorry for the poor quality All the white wall tiles have arrived, along with some of the floor tiles (I think the 300x300 floor tiles for the wet rooms had arrived). Hoping the caeserstone arrives tomorrow. Just had a quote from the fencing company who do the main fencing in Woburn Park of around $1600 for side return fence with 1m gates either side of the house to match the standard fencing. Does anyone know if this sounds like a good quote? Would be easy to get the same people who are doing the "free" fencing to do the side returns and gates as well but don't want to get ripped off. Can anyone recommend a good place to go for solar panels? Hoping this bad weather in Perth isn't slowing anyone's house build done. Fingers crossed for clear skies soon! Re: Celebration Homes - Lennox - Lockup - Tiling Started 173Jun 20, 2014 2:35 am Hi Ross, Your house is looking great! Just noticed that you said you upgraded to the izone aircon. Just wondering if you bought that through celebration homes and how much it cost? We are building a lennox too and it's been approx quoted at $12-14,000 but we get the actual quote next week from a daiken specialist. I didn't know you could buy it from celebration homes? Also, you mentioned upgrading the hot water system - do you remember how much that was? We're currently doing costing and then prestart in about 5-6 weeks. I'm trying to get the best deal on everything. Eeeerrrrkkkk,so many things to decide on :S Re: Celebration Homes - Lennox - Lockup - Tiling Started 175Jun 20, 2014 9:17 am JMCL Hi Ross, Your house is looking great! I'm trying to get the best deal on everything. Eeeerrrrkkkk,so many things to decide on :S Hi JMCL We are doing the aircon with ford and doonan and we are paying around $14k for the system. I think its a 14kw system, reverse cycle, daikin, with the izone controller. But the reason it was expensive is that every room in the house has a zone so we can control which rooms get the air and hopefully save money by not having air in rooms we aren't using. When we did our prestart I think Celebration only offered 1 aircon system and I don't know how good it was, I think we got a quote of around $9k for it? Think it was a 12kw fujitsu system with 4 zones and maybe 10 outlets? When I was in their selection centre last week they have vastly improved their range of aircon and control systems so you can see when you go in for prestart. They also have a solar system on display now as well! The hot water system we upgraded with celebrations. It was $730 for the upgrade and then we paid $290 for the control panel (the panel is optional but allows you to do things like control the temperature of the water coming into the whole house ie: go in the shower and only have to turn the hot water on as its already at the temperature you like!) We got a bit carried away with upgrades but it was cheaper to have most things upgraded when the house was being built rather than wait till the house was finished and rip things out and replace them. It was $180 for us to get 1.5m of fence added to one side of the house. $400 if it was a gate. This is through Treacy fencing who is doing the estate. Hi xfitzyx! You guys moved in yet? We went with the quote from Treacy fencing as well as they have done such a good job with the fencing on the houses around us. We ended up paying $1600 for around 3m of fence and 2 x 1m gates. What are you guys going to do with your backgarden? My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Celebration Homes - Lennox - Lockup - Tiling Started 178Jun 20, 2014 11:59 am Great, thanks RossB! We'll be getting the same one with zones in all the rooms but we've added heaps of space and enlarged most rooms so it might cost even more for us? We're building in the sputh west so we're also getting a wood fire heater fitted so I'm planning on doing the air con and heater together after handover. One more question about the pavers you've chosen, were they from the standard range? I have absolutely no idea with any colours or what type of pavers to choose, inside of the house in fine but outside is going to be hard Good luck with lock up Re: Celebration Homes - Lennox - Lockup - Tiling Started 179Jun 20, 2014 12:06 pm rossb2003 xfitzyx Hi Ross. Waiting on driveway and that's it now, but it's been raining for a week making me nervous as I have 3 weeks of trades lined up after handover to do flooring, painting and aircon! Still deciding on backyard, but definitely something simple to begin with. I went to a few display homes and just looked for easy ideas to dress it up a bit. Thanks Torz1980 - it has happened so quick! And I get really excited seeing changes so expect plenty more photos! Fingers crossed your tiling goes ok, we had a little hiccup with ours. The tiler hadn't been told we had paid for all the exposed edges around the bath, showers and windowsills to have beading to hide the cut edges, but have been told that they have now given him the edging to do it. Fingers crossed it has been done and looks good at our lockup meeting on Monday. Super happy with the cupboards, we kinda thought "well, what's the worst that can happen?" and went for the dark wood everywhere (except the kitchen island which is white) and I can honestly say I think it was one of the best selections we made at prestart. We toyed with the idea of light cabinets (we were looking at Paperbark or Sarsen Laminex cabinets mixed with white cabinets) but just couldn't get a good combination of laminex, caeserstone and tiles that matched in every room.
