Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Celebration Homes - Lennox - All finished 263Aug 23, 2014 11:05 pm So time for an update! First things first, WE LOVE THE HOUSE!!!! I can honestly say it met all of our expectations and then went over and beyond what we thought we would get for the money we paid, so happy with Celebration Homes right now. The floor plan of the house is so practical (there are only 2 adults living in the house) but we can see how great it would be for a large family as well. Most of the boxes are unpacked and the furniture from the rental house has been arranged where it looks OK - I reckon it's going to take a good 12-18 months before the house is the way we want it. So far we have managed to get most of the rooms sealed and primed with a good undercoat of paint and then we have managed to paint the final colour on most of the walls but failed miserably in getting all the cutting in done before we moved in, so please excuse the white gaps in the picture where the walls should be painted! If anyone is interested the paint is a Taubmans colour called Light Silver and we are going to be painting the whole house this colour. So here are some pictures (please excuse the mess!) We got Instant Gardens to quote for the rear garden as well, quite competitive and nice to get it all done at the same time as the front garden We have two dogs and here they are modelling outside the house around the new letter box. It is solid granite with a laser etched address (hidden for privacy reasons) This is the "Beast" - otherwise known as the air con unit, we were very happy with the service we received from Ford and Doonan Joondalup and would happily recommend them to anyone who was in the market for a really good air con system. You can also see the gates and side fence we had installed by Treacy Fencing (they also did all the fencing for the developer). And here is the touch screen control panel for the air con And the dogs love the new area and house! Laundry Pantry Kitchen And the new fridge that just fits! ha ha! Family Dinning and the doggies chillaxing again . . . Master Bedroom - easily fits a king size bed Front Hallway Cinema Look how tall those windows are!! New lights are getting fitted next week and the gardens should be done in the next two weeks. Waiting for the curtains to arrive and then we should be nearly done. Trying to go for a vintage/retro look and managed to find these light shades for the family/dining room - original danish 1960's unopened in box . . . . Will post more pics after all the lights have been installed and the gardens get finished. We are also beginner art collectors so are thinking the front hallway is going to be the display area for some big pieces so will post pics when that is done as well. Hope everyone else's builds are going well. That looks like the exact samsung fridge that we will be getting and we will also have to put it next to a wall. Does it open ok? Re: Celebration Homes - Lennox - All finished 265Aug 24, 2014 12:25 am You have a beautiful home rossb! Can I ask what colour your kitchen cabinets are? Would love to do something similar but with wood grain for the lowers and white for the uppers. Re: Celebration Homes - Lennox - All finished 266Aug 24, 2014 7:05 pm House is looking great Ypu must be sooooo pleased and it sounds as if you are Thanks for your complete honest report on your house. We had to change blocks so we were able to change anything we wanted to on our final design so I ended up putting the bedroom doors 2 & 4 in the hallway. I had been thinking about it but after reading your recommendation I decided to just do it. Your dogs look like they're enjoying the house and the new parks The lamp you've got in your family room I have been thinking about buying for our theatre room when it's built? I'm loving choosing everything at the moment, it's such an exciting phase of building Re: Celebration Homes - Lennox - All finished 267Aug 25, 2014 12:20 pm This is probably a sad thing to notice, but we have the exact same metal shelf raisers that you do in your pantry Looking great! I can't wait until our house is unpacked enough to share some decent photos! Re: Celebration Homes - Lennox - All finished 268Aug 25, 2014 1:18 pm Looks soooo good! Making me excited to see mine finished! Awesome to see how all your furniture fits and how much space you still have. We've got the same chest of drawers in our master and i was wondering how they were going to look against that wall! Awesome, love it! I would also like to know how you find opening the left door of the fridge against the wall? We've got the same fridge, just the 3 door version, and have been wondering if we'll be able to open the door all the way and still be able to open the bottom sliding drawers in the fridge? Yeah we were worried the drawers in the bedroom would be too big, but they fit perfectly! The fridge fits ok for me, you can just open the left hand door fully but the right hand door opens wide so it makes up for it, you have to push the fridge as far to the right as you can to make it work. The drawers in the freezer open perfect. xfitzyx This is probably a sad thing to notice, but we have the exact same metal shelf raisers that you do in your pantry Looking great! I can't wait until our house is unpacked enough to share some decent photos! Good old Ikea! haha! Did you notice the lazy susans we have as well? I stole that idea of another persons thread on here and it has made the shelves so much more practical for all the smaller cooking ingredients. manderinne You have a beautiful home rossb! Can I ask what colour your kitchen cabinets are? Would love to do something similar but with wood grain for the lowers and white for the uppers. Hi Manderinne - the dark cabinets are Milano Walnut, Silk Finish, Laminex. Having the silk finish really makes a massive difference to the overall look of the cupboards and I would definitely recommend the upgrade if your cupboards don't come with it as standard. Re: Celebration Homes - Lennox - All finished - Garden & Lig 273Sep 02, 2014 2:15 am Hello, just wanted to say I am liking how your house turned out - it looks great. I was also hoping I might be able to ask if you have any more photos of the house from the back. We are considering similar bricks for our house, but we do not want any render, so would like to see a slice of your house showing the bricks, downpipes, windows, fascias, gutters, roof etc as I think I might like to have colour scheme similar to yours. Thanks in advance Tim Re: Celebration Homes - Lennox - All finished - Garden & Lig 274Sep 02, 2014 7:36 am house is looking great congrats on moving in. the pups sure love their new home. Can I ask how you are finding the induction stove? I really like to sleek look of it, and the easy to clean aspect, but I am so used to gas cooking (plus half our cookware would need to be replaced) - I really cant decide whether the upgrade is worth it.
