Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 29, 2014 11:09 pm This forum has been so incredibly helpful and informative to us that I have decided to start a thread of our own building journey! Please feel free to ask any questions along the way as I am more than happy to help as I have so valued how others have helped me! We are building in North Lakes - Queensland, about 30mins north of Brisbane CBD. After a LOT of research and changing of minds we have decided to build the Trinity Q2 with Plantation Homes (aka Henley Homes down south). We initially paid a deposit with Clarendon Homes and then nearly signed with Coral Homes and are SO happy we are now deposit paid and 100% sure that Plantation are the builder for us! Re: Our Plantation Trinity Q2 QLD 2Jan 29, 2014 11:16 pm Our floorplan: Upstairs - changed master to rear and added a balcony as our block backs on to the golf course Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Downstairs - we have actually extended the alfresco by about 2m to reach the end kitchen wall, and will be using the "theatre" as more of a rumpus or indoor/outdoor room. We are also building with Plantation in QLD - Mt Cotton.. about 35 mins south-east of Brisbane We have had our tender appt in Dec, colour and electrical appt just last week and we have had no issues to date. PH have been great and we are just submitting all of our final plans to council along with land registration in Feb so hoping to start the build early March! Good luck with your journey and keep us updated J Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68375 Re: Our Plantation Trinity Q2 QLD 4Jan 30, 2014 9:36 am Hi Jase_Dave Great to hear from you! Yep I know where Mt Cotton is - which house are you building? Wonderful to hear everything is going smoothly, we are a bit behind having only just paid our deposit but have had nothing but great experiences with Plantation so far. Our land isn't registered yet but hopefully will be ready to build on in March! Re: Our Plantation Trinity Q2 QLD 6Jan 30, 2014 10:59 am Great floor plan. If we were going to do two storey it'd be something like that. We're doing a plantation build also, our near Springfield way. Hope you have a great build! Do you have colour selections you can post? Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65085 Re: Our Plantation Trinity Q2 QLD 7Jan 30, 2014 11:02 am Hi EmyN! Thanks we are really happy with it! Which house are you building? We went to Cosham studios yesterday for the first time which was so much fun! We haven't done official selections yet but have a pretty good idea of what we want - luckily we have very similar taste! I will do a few different posts with inspo pics and colour choices Re: Our Plantation Trinity Q2 QLD 8Jan 30, 2014 11:12 am Awesome, look forward to the pics. We're doing a modified Retreat (build thread is in my signature if you wanted to check it out). Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Splashback colour - I am in love with this!!! Hard to tell from pic but it's not really gold.. more of a really light creamy brown with a shimmer through it! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Pendant lights - hanging two of these over our island bench! Window splashback will be just like this with the shimmery glass splashback around the edge of it (so it shouldn't look too over the top) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Our Plantation Trinity Q2 QLD 10Jan 30, 2014 2:34 pm We are building at the Silkwood estate and our plan is the Sienna Vogue Q1 with extended alfresco Will just be the two of us and our two dogs so ample amount of room and rooms! One bedroom will be a guest room, One a home gym and the other is the Study. We are also turning the Theatre room into our Games room will Pool table We have a thread too in our signature with some colour selections! Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68375 Re: Our Plantation Trinity Q2 QLD 11Jan 30, 2014 3:10 pm Sounds fantastic Jase_Dave! It's also just us and our dog but we will probably be getting another one soon - she needs a friend!!! I would love a home gym that's such a great idea A pool table would be great for entertaining! EmyN we originally considered single storey but because our block is an irregular shape (even though it's 650m2) and tapers in towards the rear we pretty much had to build two storey, or build a tiny single storey! After purchasing end of Oct '13 and nothing happening since then I couldn't believe it when I saw it today and it was flattened and all the big fence barriers removed! And there was earthmoving machinery busy working away on the whole release section! Getting so exciting!!!
