Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 16, 2008 3:19 pm Hi everyone, l am a big reader of this forum but am very slack with posting. However, l wanted to share my experience with H3nley for anyone currently building with them or thinking of using them.
We have built the Ascot MK3 in the double story range. It is fully rendered and we have included many extra options. We are in the council of Glen Eira (with very drawn out processes) and to top it off are in a Heritage listed area. H3nley modified their house plans around council requirements and made many adjustments that l would not have thought a volume builder would do. They suprised us every time with their ability to come up with solutions and work with us and the council. Our home build took exactly 6 months from start until our move in date which is hopefully just over 2 weeks away. We had our handover inspection today (yes with Kevin also) and we found a few minor things such as paintwork, scuffs, kitchen cupboards not aligned etc), but overall we were extremely happy with everything as was Kevin. That's not to say we haven't found issues along the way, but we have made sure when we have found things we notified H3nley straight away. We sent them 2 long lists throughout the process of items that we wanted rectified and these have been done, which made the handover today go smoothly. We found our CSR and Supervisor to be prompt, efficient and accomodating where possible. For example the glass splashback in our kitchen was supposed to be a colour called "Stonecrop on Starfire" however in the Cosham colour meeting our consultant typed "Stonecrop on Clear" which is completely different colour. Even though throughout the entire process all the paperwork had the wrong colour, l never picked it up until l actually saw it installed in the kitchen. l informed H3nley and explained the situation and today our Handover Inspector confirmed it would be changed to the original one l wanted. This is not something that they had to do considering it was partially my fault, but nevertheless they have been accomodating. Anyway enough of my rantings, l just wanted to share some of our experience because initially on these forums, before we had chosen our builder, l found so many negative comments relating to H3nley. l do understand that everyone has their own personal experiences and each home is only as good as the supervisor and the team of builders working on it, so if you have had a bad experience with H3nley please do not take my post the wrong way. This is all just based on OUR experience. Finally, just in case you are wondering NO l do not work for H3nley, l am just a customer wanting to share her happiness with you all  Re: For anyone building with H3nley... 4May 17, 2008 9:32 pm Quote: Finally, just in case you are wondering NO l do not work for H3nley, l am just a customer wanting to share her happiness with you all hmmm, thats the first thing I thought when I read your post! must be the cynic in me comng out Re: For anyone building with H3nley... 5May 18, 2008 12:13 am It is nice to hear a "Good news story" occasionally and this is s a good one

Re: For anyone building with H3nley... 6May 18, 2008 4:19 pm Thanks guys, l hope l haven't jinxed myself by praising H3nley too much before we settle. Our final inspsection is in a week and a half so l hope everything is done so that we can settle on that day too. We have already given notice on our rental so if anything goes wrong from here it will be a disaster. l will post some pics once we move in and it is looking beautiful. Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you.
