The remaining porch is 3.1m long but 2.6m wide. Our house is 11.9m wide (in case they are basing it on percentages). We are also on a corner block. I hope all of these details help your situation to give you an idea of what we got approved. Thank you Cat - very helpful info will pass onto our builder Re: In-Vogue Build at Champion Lakes (WA) 19Jan 27, 2014 6:27 am @Dons80 - Totally agree and we will be doing that to make the most of our warranty period. Also, my dad in an engineer so I'm going to take him down to look at the footings. We also saw a lot of poor reviews around 2008-2010. This really worried me and I took them to task on the situation. However, all the reviews from around 2011 (except 1) where positive. I also went to building sites and checked the recent quality of their builds. There was an explanation as to why it changed between those years (something about change in management / work crews... I wasn't really that interested in the why, only that it did change). However, your advice holds true for any build. @rj40 - I only just thought... we are two storey. Maybe that made a difference? The porch goes up the whole two stories so they may have thought that looked imposing enough. Anyway, I can't clarify their thought processes ![]() Our Family Home Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=69221 Our Investment Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=69588 Re: In-Vogue Build at Champion Lakes (WA) 20Feb 01, 2014 8:01 pm Our house slab <3 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Had a little bit of drama around the footings and the pool. However, it may mean our pool is located about 20-30cm out from what we expected. As long as it can go in, I'm fine. They will tempt you to sign the paperwork offering a cheap contract price, would delay… 10 31907 2 5176 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 69806 |
