Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 24, 2014 9:08 pm Hi everyone It looks like our build is going to begin in the next couple of months or so (yay!) My husband and I had New Home Visuals do a few mock-ups of what our home is going to look like, and we were looking for opinions before we go to our final colour selection appointment in a week's time. 1. Thoughts, everyone? Cheers Benika Building at Brooks Reach, NSW -- Sonata with Masterton Homes Re: Opinions on our new home's facade? (Sonata by Masterton) 3Jan 24, 2014 9:22 pm I had wanted grey bricks with surfmist for the windows, gutters, garage door and the roof in windspray Re: Opinions on our new home's facade? (Sonata by Masterton) 6Jan 25, 2014 11:58 am Just a thought: you might find that in reality surfmist is too pale against the other dark colours, especially if your home's aspect is full sun (eg north or east?). . . Lots of light tends to "bleach" the appearance of the lighter colours. Re: Opinions on our new home's facade? (Sonata by Masterton) 7Jan 26, 2014 1:49 am I like number 3 but perhaps with surfmist windows and a painted front door for a pop of colour. I've seen some beautiful lime green and aqua blue front doors on houzz.com if you need any inspiration. Re: Opinions on our new home's facade? (Sonata by Masterton) 10Jan 26, 2014 8:16 pm number 3 gets my vote. We chose pearl grey bricks and silver/grey windows brick work is not yet finished but we love it. We chose a light colour garage door/ gutters paperbark after also considering timbe. All good choices either way. Did the brick people help you with putting the samples together? They also gave us addresses to see full houses too. (Mrs red brick) Our thread. We are still leaning towards option 3, but possibly Woodland Grey window frames and a coloured front door, possibly blue or teal. Which we can always paint over if we don't like it. From what I've researched (it's so hard to find info on pricing before the actual appointment!), we might be looking at a lot of money for a timber front door, hence sticking with the standard coloured door. I'll let you all know once we've been to our appointment and made our final selections. Thanks again Building at Brooks Reach, NSW -- Sonata with Masterton Homes 4 16742 Hi, guys!
