Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 22, 2014 9:01 am Hi all, Does anyone have any tips on what a stormwater site plan should look like? I am building a shed (a house eventually) and my surveyor says he wants a stormwater plan. This is a rural property, so no existing drainage. he is away at the moment, so i can't ask him what he requires. I am thinking of a plan showing the direction of the water flow and catchment into a rainwater tank. Is that all that is required do you think? Re: Site plans for stormwater drainage 2Jan 22, 2014 10:46 am You also need to think about where any overflow from the tank will go. Maybe to a watercourse or a soakwell? Re: Site plans for stormwater drainage 3Jan 22, 2014 2:50 pm Thanks, Yes - I had thought about that but I have no clues how the plans should look. I was just going to draw it out on graph paper, showing the slope, gradient, levelled off area etc. Do I also show downpipe locations and the tank? I can just draw in a soakaway for the tank overflow. Would that be adequate do you think? Re: Site plans for stormwater drainage 4Jan 22, 2014 7:47 pm I take it that you will not be on mains water or connected to stormwater. Is that correct? Are you required to also have a fire fighting reserve storage capacity? 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage. The last I heard, sheds were not regulated for stormwater drainage but I can check to see if this has changed. Just give him a broken line sketch showing the flow path from the shed to the tank. If it's insufficient, he will let you know. I can't imagine him wanting trenching depths and details, IO locations (not mandated for water tank wet systems in Victoria at any rate) etc. 3in1 Supadiverta.
