Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 16, 2008 1:31 am Ok so we finally have our first inspection booked for next wednesday. So help me what am I looking for, what should I check and how much time should it take? The whole build has been pretty seamless, no issues at all, it looks pretty good so far. Took 6 months from the pad going down. The brickwork is flawless, the wet areas and kitchen look great. I know of a few little things I've noticed along the way like holes in the plaster where they had to punch through for power points after the plasterer just went over them, or a tradie has bumped a wall, but I'm expecting those to be fixed by now and they're not really concerning issues. If you read my thread about the kitchen bench, I saw it today after the flooring went in and it is already blending in a little more.
It's a 4x2 double brick and colourbond, with double garage and solar hot water. I asked my Dad if he wanted to come too, he's a self taught carpenter/handyman/jackofalltrades, and has built a house on his own in the past so his eye should be useful. If there are going to be problems, what are they usually? ta, Em Re: First inspection 2May 16, 2008 5:59 am Hi,

You will probably find that any issues will be pretty superficial - just be critical and tell them about anything you see. All the best! Ray. Second Time 'Round i would suggest nothing is unreasonable for PCI. we did all sorts, including checking the hot water, checking all the GPO's had power, testing that the showers were… 9 98695 you need to understand the breakdown of warranties. 90 warranty is considered as minor defects rectification period where as the longer ones are more major/structural… 1 5351 Hi, I have this sewer inspection point sitting in an odd spot in the rear of my yard: https://imgur.com/ghLI98q What I'd like to do is put a firepit in that corner of… 0 6531 |
