Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 21, 2014 3:52 pm Hi everyone, I moved into new Henley home in November 2013, last Thursday I came home as soon as I stepped in there was water on the floor floating everywhere. Luckily it was tiled floor and as I walked in and found out water is dripping from the Ceiling It is something real bad when something happens in the ceiling I wish it was the dishwasher that has caused the water leakage but it was the evaporative cooling water point left by Henley in the roof. Plumber did a poor job, looks like cos the extreme heat last week the connection loosened a bit and leaked. Anyway, Henley inspector came in and did the inspection, as the ceiling plaster is sagged down froom 2 places in living area. Inspector said he will get someone to fix the plaster but most probably they will put some more screws in to hold plaster in place and repaint it. I am not sure if that is going to be good enough or should I ask them to cut the plaster from sagged area and put the new plaster in to make sure it will hold its place longer? Sagged bit is around 1/2 inch down from the wooden joists. Please help if anyone went through similar situation. thanks singh Re: Henley house ceiling leakage 2Jan 21, 2014 4:26 pm Damaged areas of ceilings should be replaced under builders warranty. Ceiling has sagged because adhesion has failed. Ceiling is held up by adhesion not by screws, screws are there only to hold the sheet until adhesive sets. Therefore just screwing back won't do.
