Just looking at the plunge pool, it would fit nicely off the alfresco and into that odd corner. And the veggie garden wasnt going to be huge anyway. Maybe i can put it into those colourbond garden beds. I think once all the walls are done we need to measure up the garden area and put plans to paper. Personally I think he's dreaming. How did you go with the landscapers? I want to have a pergola off the front-side of the house with hardenbergia climbing over it. I know that I don't have much say about their planting (I was told I wouldn't). But I thought if I got a landscaping plan together, they would be more sympathetic to what I was trying to achieve. Alternatively, I might see how much it would cost for them to do a plan. I'll post my mock-ups on my thread when they are in a better state. I would love to see your sketches too... always great to get ideas Our Family Home Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=69221 Our Investment Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=69588 Re: Aveling Homes build at Champion Lakes 92Jun 15, 2014 9:17 pm Well the brickie boys have been busy this week. Exterior walls are up, interior walls have started. Went and took a few pics on the weekend. <a href="http://s71.photobucket.com/user/nina71_red/media/14thjune1_zps81a074c8.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i149/nina71_red/14thjune1_zps81a074c8.jpg" border="0" alt="looking down the back wall, laundry then the bedroom window photo 14thjune1_zps81a074c8.jpg"/></a> Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Builder:Aveling, Champion Lakes Deposit:21/06/13 Contracts:1/08 P/start:3/09 Kirsty F Var/Contract: 5/12 Slab17/3/14, Bricks28/3, Walls30/5,Roof frame18/7,Render14/8,Ceiling15/8,doors lock up 2/9 Re: Aveling Homes build at Champion Lakes 93Jun 19, 2014 5:02 pm Going well Good for you. It's starting to look like a house You must be relieved to see so much traction after the delay with the bricks. Have they given you an indication of a date for completion? All is well and I am on the mend. We might head over there this arvo to check on progress. Yes, it is starting to look like a real house. Roof frame is up, eaves are on, and the electrical wiring is being put in this week. We have done a wander around the house, done measurements for furniture etc. Thinking of putting in one of those attic storage thingies where the man hole is in the garage. I'm big on storage and there seems to be heaps of room up there. Have to wait for the A/Con and skylight ducting to be put in and see what room is left over. No indication of completion yet. We are thinking Octoberish. We are researching small pools at the moment. Arne't you getting a pool? What has been your experience? We can only fit in a 5m x 2.5m. Ive checked my last year of electricity usage, worked out how much i spend and how many units i use. Whirlpool website was good to see what everyone else thinks and what they got. But i was a bit confused about the terminology and gobbledy gook. Best website for learning all about solar is http://www.desertknowledge.com.au where they test a heap of panels and inverters at an installation near Alice Springs. The site explains all the mumbo jumbo then compares the stats on a spreadsheet, in real time or you can pick a date. Very interesting. We are looking a 2 -3 kw system, that will suit out power needs(we are pretty thrifty when it comes to power, ususally spend $60 month and usually in credit). We have a few quotes and a few more to come. We arnt just going for the cheapest on the market, (as advertised on tv specials), we want somthing that will last, economincal, good brand, quality, but still considering the budget. And pay for itself in 3 years. Any thoughts, peoples? Experiences? Sorry to hear that you had to have one. They are never nice. In regards to the pool, we found that Sapphire pools had a good range to fit our small area. They are in Kenwick, on Albany Hwy. Cliff is the sales rep up there. He even let the kids have a swim when we were picking. Have you thought about putting in a larger spa? Maybe that might be a good choice given your size of area. I guess it depends on what water activities you are after. BTW, it's really coming along now I drive past a few times a week to see how things are going on your place. Last week the internal render was done. Yesterday the render for the front was put on. What an art form, watched this guy basically throw the render onto the brickwork then smooth it on then later shave it down. Today 2 guys did all the ceiling and cornice....... in 1 day. CRICKEY MOSES. And they swept out every room even though half the mess wasn't theirs. They left a very neat and tidy house. The weeds out the back are now waist high....need to get in there and clear it out. Looks like a job for the weekend.
