I never would have thought white could be so confusing but its got me puzzled hahahaha Re: Dee & Dan's First Home Build - HGWA - BASINS + MORE! 708Oct 03, 2014 1:59 pm Hi Dee, Just wondering where you got those amazing black sinks from and how much they were? Did you organise them through homegroup or did you organise it yourself?? And how much credit did you get back for the standard ones that home group offers? We went to the pre start office not long ago to get an idea of the selections.. Pretty bummed they only had 4 sinks to choose from and not sure how we go about getting nicer ones... Thanks Building with HomegroupWA in Spearwood: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73170 Re: Dee & Dan's First Home Build - HGWA - BASINS + MORE! 709Oct 03, 2014 5:17 pm Oh dearrrr! I keep saying I will stop taking so long between checking my thread I really need to stick to it! I feel comfortable enough with my h1 family to share on here I have had a pretty stressful couple of weeks with a very draining personal family problem which unfortunately is still ongoing, and feel like i have no time to myself between that, work and the house so sorry for being so MIA lately. I have just spent most of my day at work (not doing much work at all) catching up on everyones threads and 1) I dont reccomend it as it takes a reallllyyyy long time...and 2) whoa i missed a lot!! So glad to see everyone moving along so nicely I'll reply to everyone first and then for my own updates! Big thanks RnC, Mrs Parker, Tonk, Burns, Marcia, Kelsey, Triggy, Malsannie, Hopeful & Rache - you guys are all so lovely and have kept me sane though this process so thankyou!!! Meelz Hi Dee! I have been stalking your thread for a while now and I am in love with your home! Me and my OH have just started building with HGWA (slab went down yesterday!!) and we have a similar size home to yours. I actually nearly went with the same plan! We are also going with a similar colour scheme - black, white & charcoals so it is soooo good to see it all coming together for you and get an idea of how our home might look! I love some of your ceiling upgrades also! Kicking myself for not thinking of some of those upgrades. Very excited for you to nearly be so close to finishing! Hi Meelz! Thankyou for your lovely commentsand congrats on your slab - very exciting! Glad we could be of help for you to visualise what it will look like, its something i tossed and turned over but am so happy with how its all turned out now! I have to give credit to a lot of the ceiling upgrades to our sales rep he was really helpul! Do you have a thread? Lauz Hi Dee your pics look amazing! loving the white! would you mind me asking which laminate colour and finish you have used for the white? I never would have thought white could be so confusing but its got me puzzled hahahaha Hi Lauz! Glad to be of help - the polar white was the safest choice we thought. We went with Lexicon quarter on our walls as well and it ties in well doesnt look yellow against the polar white cabinetry jasmineandjason Hi Dee, Just wondering where you got those amazing black sinks from and how much they were? Did you organise them through homegroup or did you organise it yourself?? And how much credit did you get back for the standard ones that home group offers? We went to the pre start office not long ago to get an idea of the selections.. Pretty bummed they only had 4 sinks to choose from and not sure how we go about getting nicer ones... Thanks Hi jasmineandjason! Our basins are from bathroom decor - they are the DUNE Cosmic basin. Im not sure how much credit you would get back for the standard basins, we have had a few issues with the basins in the end as these werent the ones we originally chose which got discontinued. I know to buy them from the shop they are approx $500 each so not cheap, but they are beautiful and a definite statement piece. We didnt like any of the basins our builder offered either so we just hunted for a basin we liked and they costed it up for us. Hope thats helps and good luck with your selections! I was told that we have things booked in up to the 3 of oct. they have not given me a date and it looks like hubby will be in the usa for it too so I will need to book in babysitters. I hope my PCI is after the school holidays!! are you getting your SS beer or wine?? what about the CS? Cupcakes im so glad to see on your thread they have given you a rough date - thats so great!! I dont know about the beer/wine tbh. I have changed CS four times throughout construction phase and havent had much contact with the SS the whole way through. It is a normal thing most people do? Im not sure what your relationship is like with yours, it may be very different since you can actually go there during the week when the SS is around, we have literally met ours maybe 2-3times through the whole build! I dont want to seem unappreciative but at the same time i dont feel like people should feel obliged just because other people do it. Re: Dee & Dan's First Home Build - HGWA - BASINS + MORE! 712Oct 03, 2014 5:51 pm Okay and now for my update - So after my triumphant success in getting into the house two weeks ago I dragged out my next visit a bit and headed to the house this Wednesday as I had the day off. Unfortunately this visit was nowhere near as exciting. For one, there was no miracle ute parked out the front with the door open and second not much has been completed in the almost 2 weeks since my last visit. I have a few pics of what had been completed then... Fittings finally all completed in the bathroom/enauite Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also looks like all render and painting has now been completed - and tape has been taken off the window frames Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Front door painted...im still unsure...its hard to picture because the panels are still covered. I will be putting black pebbles in the gaps either side of the paving so I feel like that will help tie it in as well. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And our garage door was on...but it was up so couldnt tell what it looks like yet Pic for proof though! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ As for whats left...not a lot!! I have been pressing to get a PCI date, but they wont commit, still telling me will be booked in 1-2weeks. The email I received this morning from said flyscreens, carpets & painting are all now complete, door handles have all been installed apart from the front door handle which was stolen from site and is being replaced. All I can think of thats left to go is shower screens, mirrors, robe sliders, towel rails/toilet roll holders and the final clean...am i forgetting anything? We are soooo close to the end yet it still feels sooo far away!!!! Re: Dee & Dan's First Home Build - HGWA - BASINS + MORE! 713Oct 03, 2014 6:00 pm I really really love your bathrooms! LOCKUP!!! Re: Dee & Dan's First Home Build - HGWA - BASINS + MORE! 715Oct 03, 2014 6:02 pm I think the front door is awesome. You are right, the stones will help tie it is. You also get texture and warmth from the timber paneling on the ceiling. Look at me, saying things like I know what I'm talking about! I might not be an expert, but I know that door looks good Re: Dee & Dan's First Home Build - HGWA - BASINS + MORE! 716Oct 03, 2014 6:04 pm I am so silly I must not have read your whole post?!? wow you guys are at the same stage as us. our carpet went in on Tuesday so 1 or two weeks to go hey!!!
