I wonder if anyone else has come across this?
We are at tender stage and the (project) builder's engineer has furnished the world's briefest report stating that we are in a "severe marine environment" = $7500 extra for window bits, exposure grade bricks etc, plus another similar amount if we want a colorbond roof (suddenly I don't...).
We are on the Cooks River, which is tidal and brackish, but we are about 7km from Botany Bay, let alone the open ocean. I think the rating is over the top.
Anybody know anything helpful?
