My thread - viewtopic.php?t=77170 Re: Commodore Homes, Alkimos Beach - KEYS! - Pics! 842Aug 13, 2015 6:52 pm OMG squeezy fit on the TV! Lucky it fits but I wish the installers well :p I bet it weighs a tonne, I remember moving a 60" TV up an apartment stairwell...the worst! I love your couch, well obviously as I have the same style :p but seeing it in your place has really cemented that I like it! I think it looks fine in the space, once you soften it with throws and cushions it won't look so 'harsh'. Looks awesome, look forward to seeing you work some colour into it That blank wall next to your dining table is screaming for a huge piece of colourful art Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Commodore Homes, Alkimos Beach - KEYS! - Pics! 843Aug 14, 2015 12:27 pm Hootie Hey BS12, that black theme...awesome!!! That black fridge...awesome!!! and that TV...you know it...awesome!!! And congrats on the bmx win on Sunday...the weather gods were kind that day to all riders and spectators lol... Looks like you've had a very busy couple of days! Enjoy moving in Haha cheers hootie! Yeah I expected it to be rained out. Actually to be honest I was kind of hoping for it so I could go shopping instead haha. But as it turns out I woke up to a perfect, sunny morning on Sunday so it was off to racing I went. Good choice in the end jlo1990 looks great! Thank you! Our Honeywood Build Oh wow that kitchen looks massive and fricken loveeeee your floor tiles with that black and white theme! They are the prettiest floor tiles that I've ever seen! Are you still doing downlights? Wowww thanks OHB! You're doing your own flooring aren't you? They're called Gastone Gloss in a 450x450 from Crosby Tiles and are actually very reasonably priced! Am still planning on downlights but fortunately/unfortunately the globes I've got at the moment light the place up exactly how I wanted it to be lit haha! archetto OMG squeezy fit on the TV! Mine's 80kg, so yep not exactly going to be a fun time to wall mount. Couldn't imagine having to carry a 60" up an apartment stairwell though! You're going to LOVE your theatre couch! Seriously its SO comfy and HUGE!! Had 3 people on it the other night, and could easilyyy go 4 wide, comfortably on it and that's all stretched out. Can also obviously remove the ottoman too for easier access but climbing up into it is half the fun! Will be adding some cushions, throw rug etc soon once I finalise a colour And yep agreed, but I've never shopped for artwork in my life haha. Will get onto it soon! I don't think the black couch takes over at all I think it is lovely! Oh.... my OH was looking at the photos with me and immediately wanted all the details of the telly.... uh-oh! Re: Commodore Homes, Alkimos Beach - KEYS! - Pics! 846Aug 16, 2015 9:09 pm I've changed my mind on mirror splashback over the weekend, you should definitely do it, would look amazing in your kitchen! In the dark tint I agree.... and I actually think there should be no reason NOT to make the wall yellow like the picture shown earlier. IF it isn't the cabinets then it is easy to change if you get sick of it. If you painted the wall behind the fridge and rangehood, and the one to the right where the door to the WIP (I assume? Or is it laundry?) is, it'll look fab with all your black cabinets and smokey dark tint mirror splashback! Paint is easy to change later ala Belzey Re: Commodore Homes, Alkimos Beach - KEYS! - Pics! 848Aug 17, 2015 2:25 pm trixee Geez you got that done in good time! I looove your black leather couch, looks beautiful! And it's so good to see another black kitchen I'm glad it feels like its been done in good time to you because to me it feels like the process has dragged out! Though realistically in retrospect since I've had the keys I guess I've started to get things moved in fairly quickly And thanks! Definitely happy with my choices. Most people tend to balk at the thought of a black kitchen, black this, black that etc but I'm quietly patting myself on the back for committing to it MalSannie BS12 your home looks wonderful I LOVE the black and white and french black . I don't think the black couch takes over at all I think it is lovely! Oh.... my OH was looking at the photos with me and immediately wanted all the details of the telly.... uh-oh! Thanks Malsannie! I've not been up to the house in a few days but looking back at the photos I'm happy with the couch I'd actually forgotten what it looked like in all honesty because it had been sitting all wrapped up at home for so long. I was a little worried that it might not look that great, but was pleasantly surprised when I put it together Hahaha details of the TV are here: http://www.lg.com/au/tvs/lg-84UB980T And I will say that I'm pumped on it. The blacks are ULTRA black, like in a dark room, when the screen goes black, you literally can't see anything. Also normal HD/Blu-Ray still looks mint on such a big screen, and the 3D is great also Has a massive list of apps like Youtube, Netflix etc that are easily accessible and its super easy (and fun) to use with the joystick remote... Just not as fun nor easy to move the actual TV itself!! archetto I've changed my mind on mirror splashback over the weekend, you should definitely do it, would look amazing in your kitchen! I couldn't deal with people living in my home haha my partner will be bad enough not leaving it how I want You know what? I'm having that exact dilemma at the moment. Given its my own house and I'm going to be the only one paying the mortgage, I was going to have a mate move in with me to help out, but now I'm not so sure. Like you said, its a brand new house, my pride and joy, and everything is perfect and I'll be wanting to keep it that way. And whilst I'm sure he will endeavor to look after it, seeing a bedroom messy or stuff left out will frustrate the crap out of me. I'll be having the OH over a lot (early stages, she has her own house too) so I won't be a loner, but yeah still weighing it all up. My OCD and inner control freak will no doubt surface however haha. IssyandOzzy It's like I went to black heaven B12! Looks amazing! Love that black couch Thanks IssyandOzzy! I'm going to be way too particular about my house haha already driving myself insane. I just want it to look like a show home constantly! Sucks because my 3 empty rooms could pay my mortgage plus some but just can't do it! Ohh a lady on the scene, well maybe you should wait and see how that goes before you start decorating because she will probably want to take over that haha Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Commodore Homes, Alkimos Beach - KEYS! - Pics! 855Aug 19, 2015 1:42 pm Exactly! And I'm the same regarding wanting it to look perfect 24/7. But I'm trying to put systems into place now to ensure that happens. Eg. I'm lucky to be moving out of home for the first time, so all my furniture is new, and I'm being super critical of what I take with me and what I leave behind. Basically aiming to be super minimal in what I bring up to the new house so there's less "stuff" everywhere. Also wanting to organise a proper filing cabinet/storage for all bills and paperwork and try to stay on top of that so there's not a stack of paper on the bench top. Will be putting a "no junk mail" sticker on the letterbox etc, things like that. The less "stuff" that's allowed to enter the house in the first place will help keep it perfect all the time I'm also lucky enough to have the store area/workshop in front of the garage so I can keep all my bikes, gear, tools etc in there. But yep, all about that cleanliness! Haha she's really cool and loves everything I've done. We have super similar styling/decorating interests so its all good! Was hoping to over the weekend but never ended up packing up my room. Spent the whole time shopping for smaller items, cleaning etc. I did have my first cooked meal up there however! Yesterday was spent sort of just hanging out and enjoying the place before getting the dishwasher and washing machine all plumbed in and working. I'm away again this Saturday but maybe this Sunday I could give myself a birthday present by getting moved in? The place is fully fitted and functioning now, Internet should be activated in the next day or 2 and I've got a kitchen full of cooking equipment and utensils so literally all that's left now is to pack my bedroom and BMX gear/equipment up and move it up there.
