Wow that's a long build. You build a double story? Who is your builder? Funny you should ask, I'll give you a clue they start with a C. I'm so unhappy with the build as its a single story without any flooring, window treatments or painting being done and so far I have about 30 things that need fixing:/ that I know of before my PCI Re: Commodore Homes, Alkimos Beach - I've got a date! 606Jun 11, 2015 12:05 pm Woohoo can't believe I've watched yours and Justin's builds from slab down and now you'll be moving in! Mine happened in 5 days BS12. My suggestion, get the final paperwork (the bill) from you builder on Friday next week, before then call your bank and tell them to send you an email with the final paperwork they need. I think sent it to my builders accounts department, my CL, bank and my broker in one hit. I called and made sure they got the paperwork and then asked how long. Then myself and my broker called every two days! The only reason I didn't pick up my keys last Friday was because I had everything planned and I already agreed for the final PCI "fixes" to be compelled by this Friday! So it can be done if you pressure - a little pressure is good!!!! On the worse case scenario my friends were with commonwealth back and they took close to three weeks which is pretty average! They were pretty angry! Whooop for PCI man! So happy for you!!! Cheers for the heads up! Will start getting the paperwork going. I like your idea of organising it early and literally having everything sitting, waiting and approved, then start ringing the office constantly! First Build, Commodore Homes, Alkimos Beach. Demanding keys? I've heard a few of these stories now! Realllyyyy hoping I don't have the same misfortune! That's gotta suck Reading through your replies with Justin regarding your builder I'm guessing the "starting with C" means ending in "ommodore?" JUNE last year for a PCI on Monday whattt?!! I thought my progress overall was slow and my site works started in late September! That's crazy; a 12 month build with no flooring, painting or window treatments?!! Do you have a build thread by the way? First Build, Commodore Homes, Alkimos Beach. I dont think you will have a problem with your fibre connection at your new house Bs12 since your garage isn't dettached to your house because this property we are renting is.. well lets cross our fingers that you don't as it is such a pain to deal with! Anyway, since garage is dettached to this property they have to install the box inside the walkin robe because it is infront of the house. I have attached a photo of the box that the builders of this property had put. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ You can see how it looks very confusing right. Well opticomm came 1st time to try and install fibre but only to find out there is no dedicated GPO provided in the box. the opticomm technician that came and said that the way this builder installed the box is just wrong, he said. Its just too much goin on apparently. Anyway, My property manager then called out to the builder to let them know of their fault. So they fix the problem and installed a GPO. Picture below Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So we thought this was all fix right? Nope. Didnt end there. Called up opticomm for the 2nd time to install fibre again, this was a month of waiting for them to come out again. Same technician came and found another fault with the way the builder installed the box!! The draw wire, where they were supposed to feed the fibre cable through was too stiff / stuck and couldnt be pulled out! This was supposed to be loose according to opticomm technician. So to this day, we are still waiting for connections and we are already halfway our rental agreement and have nothing in this house. I felt bad for the owners as they have been robbed by this builder thinkin they were being taken care of. They too had no idea and thought everything was working in the house. We have now seek compensation from the buider care of our prop manager since its been so stressful for us as a tenant. We pay rent on time, we cant even get the basic needs in this house. No phone, no tv, no wifi. Find an internet provider straight away before you ring opticomm. You will have to pay for them to come out everytime.. So get it right once, as after seeing them twice, you wouldnt want to see them again lol ask questions from Your builder regarding your fibre box. Good luck bs12 and let me know how you go with your connections.
